" Ilo June McCray Grisham, 76, of Pueblo, passed away Dec. 16, 2001. Preceded in death by her sister, Audrey May McCray Winters; and son, David Scott Grisham. Survived by daughter, Anne Marie Grisham of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Dr. William Edward Grisham (Ann Marie Schaaf) of Los Angeles, Calif.; granddaughters, Petra Chun Yu and Hope Elizabeth Schaaf-Grisham of Los Angeles, Calif.; and friend, Marjorie Joseph of Pueblo. She taught middle school in Pueblo County for over 30 years and then continued as an active member of the Colorado Retired School Employees Association. She volunteered at the Pueblo Zoo and the Pueblo Library. She enjoyed knitting and genealogical research. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Thursday, Imperial Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received at Imperial Reception Hall following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pueblo Zoo through the funeral home office. " "

FRANCIS

Francis Augustus McCray, born August 28, 1888 in Wisconsin to A.S. McCray and Lillian Luckey, died September 14, 1960 in Huntsville, Texas, a college professor. He was to be buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Huntsville.

Francis Augustus McCray was an Agriculture professor (1920-1939) and the Head of Vocational Agriculture in 1939.
He earned his MA from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. from Harvard.
His wife, Aytchie, herself a SHNI graduate, was a longtime educator in Huntsville, operating a five-story kindergarten in the vicinity of SHSU's Business Administration Building.
McCray House was named in his honor.

LILLIAN July 1995 Santa Cruz, California " A private service will be held for Ella Leeman, a Soquel resident who died Sunday at Driftwood Convalescent Hospital in Santa Cruz. She was 94. Mrs. Leeman was born and grew up in Green Lake, Wisconsin, one of four daughters and three sons born to Lillian and Augustus McCray. She and her identical twin, Delia, were the youngest. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family Following World War I, she married Orville Leeman, who worked as a farmer, rose grower, salesman, and retail grocery owner. He died in 1980. Mr. and Mrs. Leeman raised a family of four boys, who grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, two of whom served in World War II and two of whom earned doctoral degrees at the University of Wisconsin.
After their children left home, Mrs. Leeman earned an LPN certificate in practical nursing and for several years worked with private duty and agency patients. In the latter, she was sometimes able to share her piano and organ playing gifts with staff and patients.
She is survived by three sons - Virgil, a retired accountant living with his wife, Joyce, in Carbondale, Colorado; Wayne, a retired professor of economics living in Ashland, Oregon; and Richard, a retired marketing communications manager living with his wife, Mary, in Soquel, and 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. One son, Adrian, preceded her in death. Norman's Family Chapel Is handling arrangements, with inurnment at Soquel Cemetery. "
