He had been in ill health for 2 years. He was one of 5 sons and 2 daughters born to Alexander and Jane Leslie. He came to America in 1892. He first settled in Illinois and Iowa, then came to Dewey County, Oklahoma, in 1896. He homesteaded a claim 9 miles southwest of Canton, where he took his bride, Miss Lillie Deil Scott after their wedding at Taloga, Oklahoma January 11, 1911. The family moved to Fairview, Oklahoma, in 1943, where he resided until the time of his, died.
To this union 3 daughters were born, one daughter, Anna Louise, preceded him in, died in 1928. Left to mourn his passing are hla faithful wife, Lillie Dail Leslie and daughter Lucile of the home."
