"William Leazenby died very suddenly last Thursday and it was a great surprise to the entire community. He had gone to the store two blocks from his home and on the way back, one block from his home, he fell unconscious, and, died came as he was being carried home.
William Leazenby was born in Carroll County, Indiana, April 7, 1848, and departed this life Jan. 6, 1921, aged 72 years, 8 months, and 30 days. He was united in marriage to Lucinda C Brandenburgh, April 4, 1880, and to this union were born five children, three daughters and two sons. The sons died in infancy.
Mr Leazenby moved to Sherman County, Kans., in the year 1887, and had resided here ever since. He worked for the Rock Island railroad for eighteen years, was janitor of the Kanorado schools four years, and has worked as a shoe cobbler for Kanorado and vicinity many years. He was always kind and accommodating and will be greatly missed by everyone. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, three daughters, one step-daughter, two sisters, two brothers, and twenty grandchildren, other relatives and his many friends.
His two daughters, Mrs Maude Bryan, Ruleton, Kans., Mrs Millie Koenig, Red Cloud, Nebr., and step-daughter, Mrs Jay Penfold, of Fort Lupton, Colo., were present at the funeral, also his nephews and nieces, Mr and Mrs Carl Dawson, Bert and Oscar Leazenby, all of McClave, Colo., and the J M Harmon family of Kanorado, all were present. His brothers, Isaac and Jacob Leazenby, of Logansport, Ind., and sister, Mrs Sarah Leazenby, also of Logansport, Grandma Welsh of Kanorado, and one daughter, Mrs Laura Johnson, Hunter, Mo., were not present.
The funeral services were conducted in the Kanorado Christian Church by Edgar J White, assisted by Rev Meads. Interment was made in the Kanorado Cemetery"

MAUDE
"Miss Maude Leazenby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leazenby of near Kanorado,
and Mr. Lester Bryan son cf Mrs. Bryan, were united in marriage Sunday afternoon
at o'clock, February 12, 1911, at the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. Hutchins
or the Kanorado Methodist church, officated. It is needless to speak of the fine
wedding dinner, as such things are the height of perfection and abundance in country
homes. We suspect, from our slight acquaintance of the circumstances, that
this is a culmination of a little romance. No young man, nor old
one for that matter, knows who will be his future wife, until the
unsuspected goddess appears before his very eyes. Well, in due time,
the Mrs. Bryan to be, appeared in the form of a pleasant school teacher in the
Bryan neighborhood. For a time she boarded at the Bryan home.
There being no children in the 3chool but those of Mr. Gatschall,
it was finally decided to hold school at the home of the children,
which was accompanied with a change of boarding place. With these meager
circumstances our knowledge ends, and only the imaginative mind can picture
the novel of rural life. But let It suffice to say that Mr. and Mrs. Bryan are
likely young people, happy in youth, with the prospect of many years.
They are domiciled in the comfortable country home on the Bryan ranch on the
Smoky, where their many frinends will find welcome as chance and invitation lead
them there "
