"Ila Leon (Koenig) Crawford was born in Red Cloud, NE to John and Millie (Leazenby) Koenig on February 16, 1914. She passed away at Alpine Living Center in Thornton, CO on December 11, 2015, 66 days before her 102nd, born day.
On November 14, 1929 she married Ivan Fay Crawford in Smith Center, KS. They made their home in Red Cloud, NE. In Nebraska she helped on the farm with the animals and raised 5 children. Dwayne was the first to arrive 5 years after they were married. They had 4 more children, Tinie, Roger, Galen, and Vicki. In 1956, Dwayne lived in Colorado, Tinie was in the service, and the rest of the family moved to Keenesburg, CO. Ila worked at a little candy store called Mrs. Flury's while Ivan worked at Gingerich's Turkey Farm. The family later moved to Brighton then to Strasburg.
After Vicki graduated from high school, Ivan and Ila moved to Bennett in 1971 where they resided until Ivan passed away on June 19, 2000. Ila babysat for whoever needed help, and especially enjoyed the kids in Bennett. Some of the them continued to call Ivan and Ila, Grandma and Grandpa.
After Ivan passed, Ila lived with each one of her children until she went to Alpine Living Center in 2002. She did very well for many years. She still knew her family until the week before she passed. She enjoyed weekly visits from several of her family members. She always loved seeing the little kids when they would go see Great-Great Grandma and really liked spending time outside.
Her family gave her a 100th, born day party that was attended by 50 relatives and friends. She also had a 101st, born day party with about the same number in attendance.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her sons-Roger (Carolyn) of Commerce City, CO and Galen (Olive) of Watkins, CO, daughter Vicki Baumgartner of Keenesburg, CO, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Crawford of Thornton, CO along with 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Koenig of Greeley, CO.
Preceding her in, died is her mother and father, her son Dwayne in 1993, husband Ivan in 2000, son Tinie in 2011, son-in-law Kenneth Baumgartner in 2013 as well as her brothers --Ralph and Lee Koenig and her sister, Vada Mae Antil."

"Roger L. Crawford, 73, of Commerce City, CO went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2017 at his home. He was born to Ivan and Ila (Koenig) Crawford on May 9, 1944 in Red Cloud, NE. Roger attended Weld Central High School in Keenesburg, CO. He was married to Carolyn Dreher on April 19, 1969 in Welby, CO. He worked as a facilities maintenance person for Steel, Inc. in Commerce City for 40 years. His hobbies included traveling, car restoration and activities with The Rocky Mountain Thunderbird Club.
Roger was one of the most gentle and kind-hearted people. We are all so blessed to be able to have shared in his life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Sherri (Kevin) Billinger of Brighton, son Marty (Maureen) of Commerce City. Grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Kaile, and Charlotte. Great-grandchildren, Jillian, Damion, and Dominic. His brother Galen (Olive) of Watkins, sister Vicki Baumgartner of Keenesburg and sister-in-law Barbara (Tinie) of Thornton.
He is preceded in, died by his parents Ivan and Ila, brothers Floyd Dwayne and Tinie and his brother-in-law Kenneth (Vicki) Baumgartner.
Roger’s funeral Mass was at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 178 South 6th Avenue, Brighton, CO 80601 on July 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at The Alli Event Center, 100 South Third Avenue, Brighton, CO 80601.
Final interment will be at the Red Cloud Cemetery on a later date."

"Lee M. 'Bud' Koenig of Greeley, a Union Pacific Railroad employee, died Sept. 15, 1999 in Kearney, Neb. He was 82.
Services were Sept. 18 in Red Cloud, Neb. Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
He was born June 17, 1917, in Red Cloud. On Aug. 21, 1949, he married Dorothy May Delka.


Mr. Koenig was born June 17, 1917, to John and Millie (Lesabenn) Koenig in Red Cloud. He attended Rural School District 10 and Red Cloud High School. He farmed in the Red Cloud area for several years. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations. On Aug. 21, 1942, he married Dorothy Delka in Mankato, Kan. They lived in Red Cloud where he worked as an auto mechanic. In 1948 they moved to Derby, Colo., where he worked for Gates Rubber Co. The next year, he began working for Union Pacific Railroad and retired in 1979. They moved to Greeley, Colo., in 1981.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Marvel Anderson, Greeley; a sister, Ila Crawford, Bennett; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
