That FindAGrave memorial has two nice articles about Tom.
Upon their marriage, Tom and Mary made their home with Mary's parents,
and in Sep 1880, moved with the Tuffords to Custer County, Nebraska. Tom and Mary homesteaded a farm on
Elk Creek for many years. He was the first man appointed a notary public for Custer County
and in 1908 Tom retired from farming and became an agent for the Columbia Insurance Company.
He retired from the farm and established a home in Mason City.
