In 1880 Jasper County, Marion is 39, widowed, with Arthur 11, Lulu 7, and Effie 5.

Theodocia McCauley "Wife of M.R. McCauley" died January 4, 1877, age 28 years 8 months and 22 days.
On the same stone in Kellogg Cemetery, Jasper County are Ella B. and Sarah D. McCauley.

In 1885 Jasper County, Iowa, Marion McCauley is farming, 44, Huldah 33. Arthur S is 15, and daughter "Lonie" is 12.

James Douglas McCauley was born November 3, 1892 at Flagler Colorado, and registered for WWI in Eugene, Oregon, a grocery store clerk.

1920 Portland " A wedding of interest was an event of June 19, when Miss Grayce Luclle Wessells became the bride of James Douglas McCauley at the residence of Dr. B. J. Hoadley. The ceremony was witnessed by the immediate family relatives. Miss Florence Brown was maid of honor and the bridegroom was attended by his brother, Chandler McCauley. In the evening a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Adams, sister and brother-in-law of the bride, at which nearly a hundred guests were present. In the dining room Mrs. Ira White, Mrs. Charles O. Adams and Mrs. George F. Keck of Chicago cut the cake. The punch bowl was presided over by Mrs. Joseph Du Bois, For her wedding the bride wore a smart tailleur of blue tricotine with hat to match. Her flowers were a corsage of roses and lavender sweet peas. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Emma Wessells and was born and educated in the Portland schools. Mr. McCauley is a son of Mr. and Mrs. M. McCauley of Portland and is a University of Oregon man. After a short trip Mr. and Mrs. McCauley will be at home at 713 East Ankeny street. "

Marion R. McCauley proved up a quarter in section 30, 8S 50W in 1895 - a couple of miles from Annie, and about six miles south of Frank White's claim.


In 1900 Kit Carson County, Marion McCauley is a stock raiser, born May 1840 in Ohio, married 17 years to Hulda S. born August 1851 in Iowa. Ethel October 1885 in Iowa, Chandler M. Dec 1889 Nebraska, and James November 1892 Colorado.

M.R. McCauley had married Huldah Safley, daughter of James Safley and Eliza Fryon, on January 24, 1883 in Cedar, Iowa, so Huldah is not LaVerne's mother.

Frank Ira White had married LaVerne McCauley on June 21, 1900 in Denver, but it was recorded in Lincoln County, Colorado.
September 1902 Glenwood Springs "H. C. White, wife and son, of Hugo; Frank Ira White and wife of Denver; Mrs. A. B. Anderson and daughters of Atchison, Kansas and Miss Ethel McCauley of Flagler, Colorado were among the late race week visitors."

In 1910 Lane County, Oregon, Marion R. is 69, Huldy T. 57, with Ethel 23 a stenographer in a real estate office, Chandler M. 20 a teamster, and Douglas J. 17.

McCauley – born in OH; residence Tipton, IA; age 22; enlisted 11 Aug 1862; mustered in 29 Aug 1862 as Corporal, Company C, 24th IA Infantry; promoted Sergeant 1 Jan 1864; mustered out 17 Jul 1865; veteran's pension application # 1,043,578 from NE on 28 Jul 1891; died 11 Dec 1928 at Portland, OR; buried Rose City Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, OR."

FindaGrave # 169143863 says Theadotia (Willits) McCauley was born in 1846 in Mercer County, Illinois.

Arthur 1869-1956 is buried in Portland # 63882868

James Douglas McCauley registered for WWII in Portland, Oregon, born May 3, 1892 at Flagler, COlorado, with wife Grace L. McCauley.

In 1920 Clark County, Washington, Joe Dubois is a life insurance agent, 41, Ethel 34, with Marion 7.

Effie (McCauley) Rideout 1874-1959 is buried in Portland, # 66690969.

Joseph D. Dubois and Ethel McCauley had Marion D. Dubois on May 10, 1912 in Vancouver, Washington.

Ethel DuBois 1885-1980 is buried in Willamette National # 3896798, with Joseph D. DuBois.

Chandler 1889-1956 is buried in Portland # 176200224.

Mulford William McCauley was born March 21, 1870 at Tipton Iowa to John M. McCauley and Phoebe Treadwell.

Anna McCauley married J. M. Baldwin in Pueblo County on June 4, 1900.


In 1900 Bent County, Colorado, Anna born April 1871 in Iowa, is just married to Joseph M. Baldwin July 1868 Illinois, farming.

June 3, 1904 "Miss Ruth McCauley of Cripple Creek is spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. H. N. Carman. while on her way to St. Louis to attend the World's Fair."

March 31, 1905 Las Animas " Mrs. H. N. Carman returned Monday from a week's visit with her sister, Mrs. Joe Baldwin.
Mrs. S. F. Hickman went to the Baldwin ranch for a weeks visit with her cousin, Mrs. Joe Baldwin."

In 1910 Bent County, Joseph M. Baldwin 41 (second marriage) to Anna, have John M. 9, Charles J. 7, and Harry 1.

August 18, 1911 Las Animas, Colorado "Mr. and Mrs. J. M. McCauley, of Dexter, lowa, parents of Mrs. H. N. Carman and Mrs. J. M. Baldwin, after visiting here a lew days left Thursday morning for Cripple Creek."

In 1915 Humboldt, Allen County, Kansas, J. M. Baldwin is 46, Anna 45, John 14, Joe 12, and Harry 6.

Joseph M. Baldwin 1868-1919 is buried in Hasty, Colorado # 29725147.

J.M. Baldwin, born in Bent County, married Dorothy Atwood in Jefferson, Iowa on August 14, 1934.
"John Baldwin, 69, of Dexter passed away October 26, 1970. He was the son of Joseph and Anna McCauley Baldwin, born near Hasty, Colo., April 14, 1901. The family moved to Humboldt, Kansas where his father ran a hardware store, and later moved to the Dexter area. He was married to Dorothy Atwood of Fairfield, Iowa on August 14, 1934. Subsequently he was married to Ruth James of Adel on October 18, 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, two sons, John of Hanover Park, Ill., and Jerry of Waukegan, Ill., and a brother, Joe of Mission, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his frist wife, who died in childbirth, in 1935."
He's buried in Dexter, Iowa # 15971277
