"Laura was the daughter of Richard Wells and Laura White. She married James Schoonover, 15 February 1844, in Scioto County, Ohio, with her father, Timothy Wells and James' father, Hiram Schoonover, as witnesses. Laura was the mother of eight children. "

December 5, 1918 Aurora, Nebraska " Isaac W. Schoonover, well known pioneer settler in this county, passed from life on Wednesday night of last week, and was laid to rest in the Aurora cemetery Friday afternoon. Owing to tbe illness of Mrs. Matlock, the service could not be held at the home of the son, James Schoonover, in this city. The body was taken to tbe cemetery and a ebort service was conducted there by Rev. C. C. Dobbs of tbe Christian church. Burial was beside the wife and a baby son, both of whom died in the 80's.
Isaac W. Schoonover was born in Pike county, Ohio, in 1847, being 71 years of age at the time of his death. He resided in Ohio until the year 1871, when with his family he came to Hamilton county. He homeateaded in Beaver precinct, the place cornering with the J. H. Wilkins homestead. Later he bought other land in the neighborhood, and at one time owned a half section. He was married in Ohio to Miss Mary Ann Hyatt, and six children were born to this union. One son died in 1881 at the age of about one year, and the wife died in 1888.
The surviving children are James of this city, William J. of Oil City, Pennsylvania: Mrs. John E. Ogg of Kimberly, Idaho, Lee and Clyde, both of whom reside in the west. In 1884 Mr. Schoonover sold his farm and came to Aurora where for a number of year be was engaged in the livery business. Shortly after the death of his wife he left Aurora and since that time has made his home elsewhere."

January 13, 1987 San Bernardino "Mary Margaret Spambellone, 72, a 23-year resident, died Jan. 9, 1987. Born in Genoa, Colo., she was a title clerk for 10 years with Safeco Title Co. She was a member of the Rialto United Methodist Church, had been a member of the Emblem Club of San Bernardino, and was an officer in the Eastern Star of Colorado. She was a member of the Rialto AARPS and was active in Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her son, Clarence D. Haller Sr. of San Bernardino; two daughters, Constance Y. Marcum of Irvine and Lois M. Haller; grandchildren, Clarence D. Haller Jr., David C. Haller, Ehren J. Haller, Amy Haller, Theresa Olson, Cathy Marcum, and Scot Olson; and cousin, Irene Southerland of Valley Park, Mo.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Rialto Chapel of Allen McNearnev Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Brown, pastor of the Rialto United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment at Genoa Cemetery in Genoa, Colo. "

Anthony Sgambellone, 82, a former 40-year San Bernardino resident, died, May 27 1989, in a hospital in Harbor City. He was born Jan. 25 1907, in New York and a member of the Fontana Elks Lodge. Survivors include his son, Joseph Sgambellone of Albany, New York; daughter, Margaret Booth of Hawthorne; five grandchildren; and three great-gran-children. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. today, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hawthorne following with interment at Mtn. View Memorial Park, San Bernardino."

One tree said Irene's mother was Grace Augusta Laffoon Wessel, Daughter of Anderson Laffoon and Mary Cooper. Wife of Robert Wessel.

F.S. Schoonover of Fort Morgan

March 1889 Fort Morgan, Colorado "F. S. Schoonover arrived in town Saturday from McLeansboro, Illinois, and will engage in the practice of law at this point. The gentleman comes well endorsed by acquaintances in the east, and is making friends here. He is opening an office in J. D. Johnson's store until a more suitable room can be had."

Frank Schoonover of Morgan County

April 1890 Fort Morgan "Frank Schoonover writes us that on or about May 1st he will be located at Ogden, that clime where milk and wild honey sprouts from every bush, and where the goose which lays the golden egg roosts low down. We get this latter impression from having advertisements."
