CHARLES' FAMILY

In 1880 Nemaha County, Kansas, J.G. Keeler is 37, born in Connecticut, R. M. Keeler 33 Wife, Charles Keeler 8 Son, Leta Keeler 7 Daughter, Burtie Keeler 5 Daughter, Reta Keeler 3 Daughter, and Moss Keeler 6/12 Daughter.

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Charles is farming, 39, born in Kansas, married nine years to Melvina 32 born in Tennessee. She's had two kids, one living, Gerald G. 7 born in Kansas.

June 3, 1915 Colby Kansas "Melvina Dosia Baker was born November 30th, 1877 at Nashville, Tennessee, died May 18th, 1916 at her home near Gravette, Arkansas. In the year 1909, she came to Jackson, Tennessee, where she was united in marriage to Chas. A. Keeler on June 2nd, of that year. To this union was born three children. Mrs. Keeler made peace with God at the age of 19 and from thence forth lived a consecrated life, ever striving to point others to the Savior. She had been a constant but patient sufferer for years. And several times during her last illness expressed a readiness to go, and requested her family to join her in the home above. Funeral services were conducted at the house by Rev. Claud Goodwin and at the church by Rev. G. A. Wilson. Interment was made at Mount Enterprise Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon."

Charles claimed a quarter in section 4, 7S 49W in 1912, next to John G. Keller.


LILLIE'S FAMILY

In 1880 Lyon County, Kansas, A. Wenger is 62, Mary Wenger 46 Wife, and Lillie B. Wenger 6 Daughter.

Hartford, Kansas, June 4, 1891 " Not for the last time within the last year do we chronicle the sudden death of one of Hartford's most worthy citizens. On last Saturday, Memorial day at about 5 o'clock, Father Adam Wenger, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Hartford, died very suddenly of heart failure. He had been sitting on the porch, and had told his wife that he would go in and lie down while she prepared supper, as he felt hungry. In a very short time, not more than two or three minutes, his daughter, Lilly followed him in and made the startling discovery that he was dead.
Dr. Reser was immediately summoned, but life was entirely extinct. Adam Wenger was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, in March 1818, and was, therefore, 73 years. 2 months and one day of age. He was first married to Anna Diller while yet a young man, by which union lie became the father of five sons, two of whom survive him.
Mrs. Anna Wenger died at her home in Bearville, Pa., on August 13, 1855. He married Mary Russell on May 8, 1872. and leaves one daughter as the fruit of this union. He removed from Pennsylvania to Cass county. Illinois, and after living there for a few years, came to Kansas in August 1871, settling in Hartford, where he has resided ever since. He joined the Evangelical church about 35 years ago and ever afterward led an upright and religious life. He expressed himself only a few days before his death as being ready to meet his Master at any time and that he could die in peace. The doctor had informed the family that be was liable to die suddenly and when the news was gently told to him, he said that he was ready.
The funeral services were held in the Christian church. Rev. C. F. Erflmire, of Atchison, Kansas, preaching an eloquent funeral sermon. After the services at the church, the remains were followed by a long procession of friends to Hartford cemetery, where Rev. P. A. Scbuman, of Emporia, conducted the ceremony of the sad rites of interment. Mrs. Susie Wenger, of Emporia, wife of the late Lemuel Wenger, who proceeded his father in death just one month, was present at the funeral. Father Wenger was a devoted husband and a loving father. He leaves a wife and daughter and two sons to mourn his loss. We join with the hosts of friends in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family."

Maude L. Keeler Walker BIRTH 8 Jan 1906 Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas, DEATH 29 Aug 1994 McPherson, Kansas, BURIAL McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas, MEMORIAL ID 118390865.

"Maude L. Walker, 88, McPherson, died Monday, Aug. 29, 1994, at McPherson Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Walker was born Maude Keeler on Jan. 8, 1906, at Arlington, Texas, and was a resident of McPherson since 1973, moving from Ottawa. She was former owner of Walker's Wallpaper and Paint store, Ottawa, a member of the Free Methodist Church and Home Arts Club, both of McPherson. Her husband, Lloyd A., died in 1978.
Survivors include a son, Clive "Bud" of Eugene, Ore.; a daughter, Ruth L. Cooney of McPherson; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Free Methodist Church, JVlcPherson, the Revs. David Kendall, Tom Mayse and Tom Griffith officiating. She requested her body donated to The University of Kansas School of Medicine."
