December 29, 1924 " Mrs. Edith Shinrock, 69, who was ordained a minister of
the People's Church in 1909, in order that she might do missionary work in Kit Carson county, Colorado,
died early last night in a local hospital. She had been i11 since Christmas day.
Mrs. Shinrock was born in Omro, Wis., coming to Omaha at the age of 19.
She is survived by her husband Fred. T. Shinrock, two daughters, Mrs. Ora Carson and Mrs. Ruth Kilgore, both of Omaha,
and three sons, Lyle of Terre Haute, Ind.. and Howard and Vernon of Omaha. "

the marriage of their daughter, Miss Edith Sally Hayes, to Leonard Jakes
of Cleveland, formerly of Omaha, The wedding took place at the
Immanuel Episcopal church at La Grange, Ill. on Monday.
Present at the ceremony were Mrs. Corson and her son Gurdon Hayes.
Mr. Bakes and bride will reside in Cleveland."

"Sallie H. Pakes, 97, of 5616 Fourth Ave. died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Tom Hansen officiating. Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. today at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary. The casket will be closed at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
She was born June 25, 1905, in West Grossdale, Ill., to George and Edith (Shimrock) Hayes. She grew up in Illinois.
On Aug. 29, 1927, she married Leonard Pakes in Chicago. They lived in Omaha until they moved to Kearney in 1967.
She was a member of the church, was active in the Altar Guild and was a former member of the church vestry.
She enjoyed cooking and entertaining.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985."
