"Funeral services for Clyde John Wedmore, 78, Denver, Colo., a retired farmer and Sioux City resident from 1937 to 1953, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian church at Sloan. Rev. Marshall W. Myers will officiate and burial will be in the Sloan cemetery under direction of the W. Harry Christy Funeral home in Morningside. Mr. Wedmore died Wednesday at Denver after a long illness. Pallbearers will be LeRoy Baker of Whiting, Theodore Goodwin of Salix, Wayne Goodwin of Lawton and Roland Goodwin, Virgil Parsley and Edwin Miller, all of Sloan. Mr. Wedmore was born May 18, 1883, at Centerville, Ia. When he was an infant his parents moved to Sloan where he lived until 1937. He had lived in Denver since 1953. He married Maggie Goodwin in 1905 at Sloan. She died in 1953 in Sioux City. He attended the First Christian church at Sloan. Survivors include three sons, Harold of Salix, Darrell and Robert, both of Sioux City; five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Slocum, Mrs. Florilla Ruetter, Mrs. Gwendolyn Struble and Mrs. Enid Sulsberger, all of Denver, and Mrs. Esbby Karlberg of Wakefield, Neb.; a brother, Grover of Compton, Cal.; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Barton of Hot Springs, Ark., Mrs. Goldie Kraft of Ottawa, Kan., and Mrs. Marjorie Best of Wichita, Kan.; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren."

Orna N. Borton, late of Fowler, died Dec. 18, 1987, at his home. Survived by his wife, Geraldine Borton, of the family home; daughters, Marna (Terry) Tillinghast, Greeley, Susan (Dennis) Foy, Burbank, Calif.; stepdaughters, Patricia Lounders, Lakewood, Nancy (Christian) DeChent, Waterbury, Conn. Also survived by four grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Allene) Borton, Curtis (Marge) Borton; sister, Mamie (Charles) Girski, all of Pueblo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born Feb. 7, 1922, in Sugar City, Colo. Veteran of the U.S. Navy, WW II. Fowler resident since 1974. Mr. Borton was a retired auto mechanic. Preceded in death by his son, Eugene, 1965, in Vietnam. Mr. and Mrs. Borton were married April 23, 1971, in Pueblo. At his request, cremation, Davis-Wallin Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Fowler, with the Rev. Maurice Gallagher officiating. Interment, Fort Lyon National Cemetery.
