Adrian Pittman Burd 1841-1891, # 41898099, is buried in Kanorado, Kansas, with Susan Deliala (Copeland) Burd 1848-1920.

In 1900 Adrian is in Thomas County, Kansas, 14, with widowed mother Susana 51, born in Illinois, next to Stephen Burd, 30 and his wife and three kids.
On the same page in 1900 Emma B. Elliot, born Feb 1884 in Nebraska, is with Richard and Marthy in Thomas County, Kansas. Oliver is 20, Florence 17, Emma 16, and CHister 12.
Richard 1848-1920 and Martha 1853-1930 are buried in Norton County, Kansas.

"Susan Delilah Copeland was born Nov. 10th, 1848, In the state of Illinois, and was married to Adrian P. Burd in November, 1866.
To this union seven children were born. They are: Chas. A. of Towner, Stephen, Will and A. C. of Kanorado, Lula Davis of Enid, Oklahoma; Albert A. of Colby, and Lydia Kirkendall of Natoma, Ks.
All of the children were present at the funeral except Albert, who was prevented by sickness. In an early day she, with her husband, united with the Methodist church. Her husband preceded her to that better world twenty-eight years ago last December. They moved to Jewell county in 1871 and settled on a homestead on Brown's Creek, five miles west of Jewell City, and this was their home until her husband's death, when she went farther west to be with her children. For the past twelve years her home has been in Kanorado, Ks. She died on August 6th, 1920, at Waconda Springs, Ks., of apoplexy, being 71 years, 8 month and 28 days old.
She leaves to mourn her death seven children, thirty-four grand children, and three great grand children, together with a host of friends.
She was burled at the Couch cemetery at Jewell. The services were in charge of Hev. Smith of Mankato, at McCabe Chapel. The Burd family lived for a number of years near Natoma, and have many friends here who grieve with the children the loss of their mother.

ADRIAN

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Adrian is farming, 28, born in Kansas, with Emma 26 Nebraska. Raymond 4 Kansas Theresa 2, and Anita four months were both born in Colorado.

Adrian cash-claimed 160 acres in 33, 7S 42W, 4, 8S 42W, and 4, 5S 42W (this one in Yuma County) in 1913 - so his claims were twenty miles apart.

RAYMOND
Raymond E. Burd, born 1906 in Thomas County, Kansas, is buried in Sheridan, Wyoming dying March 16, 2004, # 44824754.

Raymond E. Burd, 98, of Sheridan died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Goodwin officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the Masonic No. 8 section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Mr. Burd was born Feb. 15, 1906, in Levant, Kan., to A.C. and Emma (Elliott) Burd. The family moved to Oklahoma in a covered wagon when he was a child. They returned to Kanorado, Kan., after the death of his 11-month-old sister. Mr. Burd graduated from Kanorado High School, then was recruited by Standard Oil Co. to play baseball at Midwest. He also worked as a pumper for Standard Oil.
He married Lucille Alice Tilton Aug. 21, 1932. The family moved to Story in 1943 and to Sheridan several months later. Mr. Burd worked as an appliance repairman for a couple of years in Sheridan, then worked for Montana-Dakota Utilities until 1971. He went into the upholstery business for several years after retiring from MDU. He was a member of the Masonic, Shrine and Elks lodges. He was former president of the Kendrick Golf Commission and helped plant many trees along the fairways. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, the mountains, playing pinochle at the Sheridan Senior Center, dinner Wednesday nights at Heritage Towers and breakfast twice a month with other MDU retirees.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Billy Ray. Survivors include a son, Gail of Ocean, N.J.; a brother, Pat of Casper; two sisters, Vina Chandler of Osborne, Kan., and Waunita Yarnell of Kiowa, Colo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In 1930 Kit Carson County, Waunita D. Hines is 20, married to Wilber R. 23. They have Wilbder D. 1 and newborn Gerald D.
In 1940 Kit Carson County, Waunita is married to George Yarnell, and the Hines kids - Wilber 11, Gerald 10, Mickey 4, and Leland 2.
Waunita 1909-2006 is buried in Elizabeth, Colorado # 27318813, with George A. 1916-1994.

VINA
Vina M. (Burd) Chandler 1914-2004 is buried in Osborne, Kansas # 14656801.
Steven N. Chandler 1914-1998 is also buried there.

VERA
In 1940 Vera Hamit is 21, married to Eltan Hamit, 23, in Rooks County, Kansas.
Shs' buried in Merced County, California 1919-1985 # 39257499. Her mother's maiden name was Elliott.

PATRICK

Harold 'Pat' Burd 87 passed away May 22, 2013 at Douglas Care Center. Pat was born in Kanorado, Kansas in January 1926 to Adrian and Emma Burd. Pat was the ninth child to Adrian and Emma. After High School graduation he enlisted in the Navy and completed V-12 training and receiving a degree in Naval Science and Technology. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Pat went to work for the BLM where he helped survey the site of Kortes dam. In 1948 married his wife Beverly. After briefly working for the BLM Pat continued his education at the University of Wyoming where he received his Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Pat went to work for Conoco in 1954 where he worked around the oil fields of Wyoming and North Dakota. In 1977 Pat took an adventure with Conoco and moved his family to Tripoli, Libya. Pat worked for Oasis Oil Company where he managed an oil camp, Gilo in the Sahara desert. Pat retired from Conoco in 1984 where he pursued his passion in life. Pat's passions were his wife Beverly, whom he was married to for 65 years. Pat and Beverly had four children Cheryl, Dianne, Dale, Duane.

Pat enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. In the fall hunting trips where always planned around the vacations with Beverly. Pat helped with the organization and planning of the oil field golf tournament 'Wildcatters'. Pat also was the organizer for the 'Senior Wildcatters' golf tournament.

Pat leaves behind his wife Beverly of 65 years. His four kids, Cheryl & Steve Cunningham, Dianne & Greg Smith, Dale and Sheryl Burd, Duane and Sandy Burd. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Services will be June 1, 2013 at Highland Park Community Church at 11:00 am. Interment will be at a private family location at a later date. June 1937 Wray, Colorado "Mrs. Arthur Dukes arrived home Wednesday from Kanorado, Kan., where she had been convalescing at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harry Burd."

October 1944 "Geo. F. Conrad, Mrs. A. Dukes and Glenn drove to Atwood, Kansas to visit her sister, Mrs. Harry Burd, and family. "

January 1946 "Mrs. Wright of Denver, who has been with her sister Mrs. Dukes, returned to her home Sunday, also Mrs. Harry Burd of Atwood, Kan., was here with them. All are sisters. "

June 1946 Wray, Colorado "Mr. and Mrs. James 0. Kier of Idalia, who have just completed their new house, entertained at dinner Sunday. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Burd and Lucie of Vona, Mrs. Mary Morton of Kanorado, Kan., and Mr. and Mrs. John Dennie of Oregon City, Ore., and Mr. Hobert Fogg of Idalia. Mr. and Mrs. W. Burd are the parents of Mrs. Kier, and Mrs. Morton and Mrs. Denny are aunts."

August 1952 Idalia items " Mr. and Mrs. Tim McKie and family are at Atwood, Kan., running the Harry Burd store. Harry was a clerk here for several years then moved to Kansas and run his own. He and wife took a vacation trip to Colorado and Wyoming for two or three weeks."
