Mrs. Riddick was a housewife and worked in clothing sales. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Hinesville, Ga.
Born June 7, 1913, in Smith Center, Kan., she was the daughter of Dr. Joshua and Martha Bates Borton, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 10, 1943, in Cottonwood Falls, Kan., she was united in marriage to Major John Frank Riddick, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1991.
Survivors include her sister, Imogene Freiburghouse, Mechanicsville, Va.; niece, Pamela (Richard) Winegarden, Seymour; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother and brother-in-law."

Vona, Colorado "Claude Earl Borton, 92, Vona, died Friday at the home. He was born in Rantoul, Kansas, and had lived in Ottawa, Kansas 20 years before moving to Vona in 1962. Mr. Bortor had been a blacksmith before he retired. He was a member of the Lane Kansas United Methodist Church. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Claudine Snider, Ottawa, and Mrs. Ruby Fern Crumm, Kansas City, a sister, Mrs. Hazel Fern Gray, Topeka, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the Lane Cemetery.

"Violet Mae Baker, 95, of Ottawa, KS, passed away October 14, 2008 at Ottawa Retirement Village. She was born July 5, 1913, in Lane, KS, the daughter of Arthur O. and Lydia Mae (Tripp) Myers.
Violet attended grade school and high school in Lane, KS. After she moved to Ottawa in 1941 she worked at Kelly's Café, Bancroft's Grocery, in Ottawa and at Wolfermans Bakery on Brookside in KC, MO and the Ammunition Plant in DeSoto during WWII.
Violet married Claude Earl Borton in 1930, they were later divorced. She married Paul Baker in 1955; he preceded her in death in 1990.
Violet enjoyed gardening, crocheting, flowers and watching baseball games with her grandson. She especially liked the Kansas City Royals.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and two brothers; Robert Leslie Myers and Melvin Ellsworth Myers. She is survived by two daughters; Ruby Fern (Borton) Crumm, of Garnett, KS and Juanita "Winki" Claudine (Borton) Snider of Ottawa, KS; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren."

November 11, 1905 Boulder "Messrs. F. C. Hachenberger and C. M. Hachenberger received a telegram announcing the death of their mother of apoplexy at Burlington, Colo. Both gentlemen and Mrs. F. C. Huchenberger and child left on the afternoon train to be there for the funeral and will return on Wednesday."

May 28, 1952 Kansas City "Jesse S. Baskett, 80, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clarice Fuqua, 9000 Holmes road, Jackson County. Mr. Baskett had operated restaurants the last forty years. He had been a resident of Kansas City since 1903 and started in the restaurant business at 12 East Eighth street, where he operated Basketts Lunch twenty-five years. His last place of business was the Brookside cafe, 6235 Brookside Plaza, which he operated eleven years before he retired in 1946.
Mr. Baskett was born in Howard County, Missouri, and moved to Kansas City from Nevada. Mo. He was a member of the Ivanhoe Masonic lodge, a lifetime member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and a member of the Mens Bible class at the Ivanhoe temple. Also surviving are another daughter, Mrs. Jessie Miller, Hattiesburg, and a brother, James H. Baskett, Dalhart, Tex.
Services will be at 2:30 Saturday at the Newcomer chapel."

All four are in Liberty in 1940.

June 19, 1958 Liberty "Final rites for Robert Clayborn Tillnmn, 66, were held Tuesday in the Frst Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. W. W. Conerly. pastor, officiating, assisted by "VT 'W' Rev. A. Breland, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Tillman died at 9:45 a.m. Monday in Kersting Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Born in Louisiana, he moved to Liberty in 1901. He was engaged in farming and ranching and was an independent stock man. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Tillman; one son. Robert F. Tillman and one daughter. Mrs. Mary June Means; one brother, Ernest Tillman; three sisters. Mrs. Laura Smart, Mrs. Ada Haywood, all of Liberty and Mrs. Mae Williamson of Beaumont, and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert Lee Tillman, E. N. Tillman, Royee Williamson. E. J. Smart, Robert Partlow, Donald Smart, Arthur Smart, and R. N. Smart. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. R. Clements, Dr. Frank S. Griffin, Dozier Partlow, D. Humber. Marvin Smith, O. F. Holsteud, Milton Sipea. P. S. Shepherd, Larry Kuhn, Phil Silva, Bud VanDeventer and Rodgers...."

"Mary June Tillman Means, age 87, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Magnolia Place Healthcare in Liberty. Mary was born in Liberty, Texas, December 10, 1928, the daughter of the late Robert Tillman and Helen Hackenberger Tillman. Mary was a homemaker for the majority of her life, but would also work part-time for various retailers in the Liberty area. Always dressed properly, she enjoyed to read in her earlier years, and spending time outside. Mary was an animal lover who was always willing to care for a stray. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Claude Means, and a brother Bobby Tillman.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters: Linda Sterling and husband Ben of Austin; Kay Lynn Darling of Trinity, TX; Francesca Whitaker and husband Louis of Spring, TX; son: Billy Smith of Carrabelle, FL; and a daughter-in-law Pamela Doucette of Saratoga, TX. In addition she leaves her nine grandchildren: Lisa, Jason, Stephanie, Victoria, Karen, Tammy, Robbie, Joyce, and Rodney. She also leaves her caregiver Delores Grey as well as a close family friend Marsha DeDear. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service for Mary will be held 2PM Saturday January 30, 2016 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow the service in Cooke Memorial Cemetery."

Mr. Tillman was born on Jan. 20, 1927 in Liberty to Robert C. and Helen Tillman and passed away on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, in The Woodlands. He owned and operated a concrete business. After retiring, he moved to North Zulch, where he enjoyed farming and working with his cows. Mr. Tillman was of the Methodist faith. He was a veteran having served with the United States Navy during World War II. He was preceded by his parents and his wife, Joyce Tillman. He is survived by two daughters, Pam Karonka and husband Arch of Navasota and Karen Alexander of The Woodlands; sister Mary June Means of Liberty; four grandchildren, Julia and Jorge Parra of Irving, Ashleigh Karonka of Huntsville, Cody and Kristen Alexander of The Woodlands, Brent Alexander and Rian Lacey of the Woodlands; two nieces, Kay Lynn and Dan Darling, Linda and Ben Sterling; a nephew, Billy Smith and several great nieces and great nephews. "Mrs. Hazel Fern Gray, 84, formerly of 229 Western in Topeka died Friday at a Sterling nursing home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1896, near Kanorado, the daughter of A.D. and Celia Edwards Borton. Mrs. Gray taught in Colorado schools for several years before moving to Lane, Kan., with her parents in 1921.
She was a member of Lowman Hill Methodist Church and Young Women's Christian Association for several years.
She was married to Lloyd J. Gray Jan. 29, 1922, at Osawatomie. He died in 1976.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Rausch, Hidden Hills, Calif.; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Gray will lie in state from noon Monday until service time at the funeral home."
