" Funeral services were conducted in Deland Friday afternoon for Mrs. Belle Borton, 84, prominent Deland woman, who died in her home Wednesday (September 21, 1948) after an illness of several years. Burial was in the Deland cemetery. Mrs. Borton was born September 1864 near Atlanta, one of the five children of Joseph and Lucinda Wilson. She spent most of her life in and near Deland.
She was married February 25, 1884 to J. L. Rorton, and they farmed north of Deland until retiring to town in 1919. Mrs. Borton leaves her husband, four children: Gail, Tower Hill; F., Monticello, and Mrs. Fern Kingsboro and L. K. of Deland; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Swisher, Deland, and Mrs. Ella Gelsthorpe. Lincoln; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren."

"Lorin Karl Borton, 84, of DeLand died 12:37 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 13, 1983) in Americana Nursing Home, Urbana. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Trigg Funeral Home, DeLand, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with 8:30 p.m. Masonic rites. Burial will be in DeLand Cemetery. Memorials: DeLand United Methodist Church.
Mr. Borton was born in DeLand, son of Joshua Lincoln and Mary Belle Borton. He was a farmer, a member of DeLand United Methodist Church, DeLand Masonic Lodge 812 and the last World War I member of the American Legion Lincoln Post 102 in Deland. He married Grace Hutchison in 1921.
Surviving are his wife; son, Karl of DeLand; brother, Faurest of Monticello; five grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren.
One daughter, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. "

"Faurest L. Borton, 97, of Monticello, died July 17, 1993 at his home. Masonic services and funeral services were held at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with burial in DeLand cemetery.
Mr. Borton was born on July 11, 1896 at DeLand, s/o Joshua L. and Mary Belle Wilson Borton. He married Hildred Reed (1898-1993) on December 12, 1917 at DeLand. She survives along with seven nephews: Leland Kingsboro, DeLand; Merwin Kingsboro, Carl Kingsboro and Gail Kingsboro of Lake Worth FL; Gail Borton Jr., West Frankfort, and Karl Borton, DeLand; and two nieces: Esther Body, Monticello; and Annabelle Robertson, Pana. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Borton was a retired farmer. He was a member of the DeLand United Methodist Church and a 75-year member of the DeLand Masonic Lodge No. 812. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society."

March 31, 1970 Mattoon, Illinois "L G. Borton, 82, father of Charleston High School principal, Gail Borton, died at 11 a.m. Monday in Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Indianapolis, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Tower Hill Methodist Church. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery. Friends, may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Stumpf Funeral Home In Pana. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Borton was born Jan. 1, 1888, in Deland. the son of J. L. and Mary Belle Wilson Borton. He married Pearl Bennett June 4, 1916. She died in 1961.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Helen Arnett of Brownsburg, and Mrs. Annabell Robertson of Clinton, two sons, Gail of Charleston and Robert of Paducah, two brothers, Loren of Deland and Forrest of Monticell; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. "
