Alexander Kyle, son of James Kyle and Jane Turner,
married Theresa Lachel on March 16, 1882 in Beatrice, Nebraska.
Alexander cash-claimed 160 acres in 1N 6E, Gage County in September 1882.
In 1885 Frontier County, Nebraska, Thomas is 2, with father

In 1900 Frontier County, Alexander is farming, born December 1859 in Ohio, married 18 years to Theresa October 1858 Wisconsin, have Edna P. June 1884, Charles M. January 1886, Myrtle W. Oct 1887, and Loyal July 1890, all four born in Nebraska.
Alex Kyle is divorced in 1910 Frontier County.
He claimed 480 acres in Kimball County, Nebraska in 1912.
He's buried in Flagler 1854-1945 # 23891385, on the same stone as Thomas.
Theresa Kyle 1858-1944 is buried in Wymore, Gage County, Nebraska, per # 60639932.
January 4, 1945 "Theresa Loibl, one of eight children of
Wolfgang and Katherine Loibl, was born at Eagle, Wisconsin, October 5, 1858.
She passed from this life at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. George Baker of Wymore on December 21, 1944, at the age of 86 years,
2 months and 18 days. Miss Loibl came to Nebraska with her sister,
Mrs. Joe Schmidt in 1880 and has lived in Nebraska since then.
On March 16, 1882, she was married to Alexander Kyle at Beatrice.
The couple moved to Frontier county, Nebraska, soon after their
marriage where they engaged in farming and their five children
were all born in that county. Three sons, Thomas, Charles and Loyal,
all of Flagler, Colorado; and two daughters, Mrs. G. W. Douglas
of Lincoln, and Mrs. George Baker of Wymore survive her.
Mrs. Kyle returned to Wymore in 1900, and since then has made
her home in Wymore, except for the past few years spent with her
two daughters. She was one of the early pioneers of Nebraska,
and watched the state grow.

"Waukesha Freeman Newspaper, Sept. 29, 1932 which reads:
"Mrs. Theresa Kyle, sister of H. M. Loibl had the misfortune to fall from her porch last Tues. and has been confined to her home with a nurse in attendance.""
"Waukesha Freeman Newspaper, July 18, 1934 which reads:
"Mmes, Baker and Douglas and children of Lincoln, NE are visiting Mrs. Theresa Kyle at the H. M. Loibl home.""
She was in the 1940 Waukesha County census, 81, living with brother Henry M. Loibl 77.
A Seventh-Day Adventist in faith, Mrs. Kyle always made it a
rule of her life to observe that day as belonging to God;
and has many times held religious services in her own home,
or a school house in order that her family would not miss
that vital training.
Remaining besides the above mentioned children,
are twenty-two grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren,
and several nieces and nephews.
All her brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Services were held from Millers funeral home Sunday,
December 24, with Kenneth Hoschouer in charge.
Burial was in the Wymore cemetery."
February 26, 1909 Yuma " Thomas Kyle of Cambridge, Neb., and Ira Kilburn of the same
place arrived Thursday with their cars and are moving to their farms southwest of Yuma."

Thomas is alone in 1930 and 1940 Kit Carson County, farming.
1944 Beatrice " Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schiedler entertained at dinner on Wednesday evening. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs, .Loyal Kyle and Mr. Tom Kyle of Flagler, Colo., and Mrs. George Baker of Wymore. "

CHARLES
In 1910 Kimball County, Nebraska, Charles 24 and brother Loyal 19 are farming together.
Charles had claimed a section - yes, 640 acres - in Kimball County 13N 56W in 1912.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Rachel Harwood is 13, with widowed father Samuel 45 Harwood. Leighton is 17,k Hazel 9, adn Frank 7.
Samuel Nelson Harwood 1874-1956 is buried in Flagler # 15793142. On the same stone is Fanny A. (Shook) Harwood 1879-1921....
S.N. Harwood 30 and Fanny 25 are in Phillips County, Kansas in 1905, with "Lalen" 2.
Mary Lou was born July 1, 1937 in Flagler, CO to Charles and Rachel (Harwood) Kyle.
In 1930 Kit Carson County, Charles is 44, Rachel M. 23 born in Kansas. Marion A. is 3, June 1, both born in Colorado. Alexander Kyle, 75, born in Ohio, is widowed.
Charles 1886-1979 is buried in Flagler # 5099187.
Rachel 1906-1993 is buried in Flagler # 5099190.
Marion Alexander Kyle, 81, of Flagler, CO, passed away on November 14, 2008 in Greeley, CO.
Marion was born on March 29, 1927 to Charles Marion and Rachel Margaret (Harwood) Kyle 15 miles north of Flagler in the same house he spent his entire life in. He was one of seven children. He attended school through the tenth grade and did get his G.E.D. at a later time.
He met and married Doris Freeman on December 26, 1950, and the couple was blessed with five children. Marion loved the land, spending his entire life farming.
Marion was very active in his community as a Farm Bureau member, a member of the Tri-State Board and the KC Electric Board. He was also a school board member for Flagler Schools and a trustee for the Zion Lutheran Church.
He loved to play cards, especially bridge and pitch. Marion also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting coyotes, and fishing. He loved to watch his grandchildren playing sports and loved to travel, but not by air. Marion loved Lawrence Welk.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents and two sons-in-law, Russell Kahl and Robert Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Kyle of Flagler; and their children, Chrys Kahl of Greeley; Dan and Faye Kyle of Eunice, MO; Susan Hunt of Nunn; Diane Miller of Ault; and Karen Kyle of Lake Havasu, AZ.
Marion is also survived by his siblings, June Shideler of Denver; Teresa Copley of Denver; Vada Carey of Denver; Marilyn and Bill Grimes of Flagler; Glenn and Shirley Kyle of Flagler; and Merideth Hase of Highlands Ranch, CO.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Dallas and Mary Beth Kyle; Paul and Amanda Kyle; Justin Kahl; Joel Miller; Kylie Miller; Maghann Gifford and Alex Gifford; and two great-grand-children, Marley Kyle and Dallas Ryan Kyle II. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Flagler, with Pastor James Elmshauer officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service. Burial followed at the Flagler Cemetery.
Marilyn Louise Grimes age 71, of Flagler, Colorado passed away January 4, 2009 in Flagler, Colorado.
Mary Lou was born July 1, 1937 in Flagler, CO to Charles and Rachel (Harwood) Kyle. She was the fifth child of seven born to this union.
Mary Lou graduated from Flagler High School in 1955. Following graduation she attended Colorado State College for three years. She worked for IBM at the Martin Marietta plant in Denver and for Packard Bell in Los Angeles, CA. Mary Lou married William Grimes on March 13, 1960 in Flagler Colorado. To this union two sons were born Bradford William and Roger Frank. The couple made their home in Flagler where Mary Lou helped her mother in Rachel's dress shop for twelve years and assisted Bill with the family farm.
Mary Lou was a member of the First Congregational Church in Flagler where she was baptized on November 24, 1963. She was very involved as a Sunday school teacher, and served on various Church Boards. She also served as a Room Mother and a substitute teacher at the school as well as a Boy Scout leader for her sons. Mary Lou followed Bill with all the many activities involved with the various boards that he served on. She was a true care giver, as she cared for both sets of parents in their elderly years. Mary Lou enjoyed refinishing old furniture and together with Bill they renovated three homes. She liked to cook, bake, sew, and play a little golf when she wasn’t busy serving her family or community.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Marion Kyle, three brothers-in-law Frank Carey, Lewis Copley, and Jack Shideler.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband Bill Grimes of Flagler, CO, sons Brad and wife Deidre Grimes and their children Johnathon Lombardo, Samantha Lombardo and Elizabeth Grimes of Flagler, CO, Roger and wife Amy Grimes and their children Jennifer and Brice of Elizabeth, CO, siblings June Shideler of Denver, CO, Theresa Copley of Denver, CO, Vada Carey of Denver, CO, Glenn and wife Shirley of Flagler, CO, Meredith Hase of Highlands Ranch, CO. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
LOYAL
In 1930 Kit Carson County, Loyal is 39, Emma L. 36, with Mamie 15, Mildred A. 12,
Evelyn M. 9, Lois E. 7, L Thomas 2, and Catherine L. eleven Months. They're next to brother Thomas.
1949 Beatrice, Nebraska "Loyal Kyle of Flagler, Colo., came Saturday to visit his brother, Tom Kyle, and his sister, Mrs. George Baker."
1958 Beatrice " Mr. and Mrs. George Baker and her sister, Mrs. Edna Douglas, of Lincoln, left Sunday for Flagler, Colo., to spend a week with their brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Kyle and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kyle and families."
October 14, 1963 Beatrice "Mr. and Mrs. George C. Baker returned home last week from Flagler, Colo., where thev spent two weeks visiting Mrs. Baker's brothers, Charles and Loyal Kyle, and their families. The Loyal Kyle's celebrated their 50th anniversary Sept. 29 at a turkey dinner with 48 guests present at the high school dining room. A reception was held at the home of their children with 180 guests registering. Mrs. Baker's sister, Mrs. Edna Douglas, and daughter, Mrs. Harry Gates, Lincoln, were also present."

Mamie Lucille (Kyle) Huntzinger 1915-1976 is buried in Flagler # 15708091.
Longtime Flagler, Colorado resident, Thomas Loyal Kyle passed away on December 24, 2012 at the Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington. He was 85 years old.
Tom was born to Loyal Alexander and Emma Louise (Riesberg) Kyle on the family farm north of Flagler, on July 13, 1927. He was one of eight children.
He worked on the family farm with his parents until he was inducted into the United States Army on October 15, 1951. He served in the Korean War until leaving the Army on July 14, 1953. At that time he went back to Flagler to work on the farm.
On July 17, 1955, Tom married Dolores Sophia Zielke at the Clapp Chapel in Flagler. They lived on the family farm until health issues forced them to retire and move to Burlington.
Tom was a member of the Flagler American Legion and was on the Flagler Co-op Board and attended the Zion Lutheran Church in Flagler with Dolores. Tom loved to play cards ! Some of his favorites were pitch, cribbage, and bridge. He taught all his nieces and nephews the fine art of playing rummy and tripoly a family favorite at Christmas time. In his later years Tom took up wood working. He made beautiful baskets, hot pads, paper towel holders and miniature carousels along with many other wood working projects. He would cut them out and put them together , Dolores would paint them and put all the finishing touches on. He also made Christmas trees and Christmas Wreaths out of baby food jars, Christmas lights and garland.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dolores in January of 2012, an infant brother Robert Kyle, and five sisters; Mamie Huntzinger, Evelyn Taylor, Mildred Kuemmerlin, Lois Horseman and Imogene Elrick.
He is survived by his sister Kay Daniel of Burlington, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Edna Kyle, 20, daughter of Alexander and Theresa Kyle,
married George W. Douglas on Sept 14, 1904 in Beatrice, Nebraska.
He was a plasterer, and they were in Nebraska in Polk County,
Nebraska in 1910, Fort Morgan Colorado in 1920,
and in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1930.
George is 59, Edna 45, George 24, Bruce 22, Edna 8, and Edith 6.
In 1940 Lincoln, George is 69, Edna 55, Edna L. 19, and Edith 17.
September 13, 1944 "George William Douglas, 73,
4402 So. 54th, died suddenly at his home late Tuesday night. Born in Iowa,
he had lived in Lincoln since 1926, coming here from Wymore.
He had lived in Nebraska 61 years. A contractor by profession,
Mr. Douglas had worked all day Tuesday. Surviving are his wife Edna,
two sons, George K., Lincoln and Robert Bruce, in the U. S. N.;
daughters, Mrs. Harvey L. Gates, Lincoln, and Mrs. Bryce Heckman,
Lincoln; two brothers, R. G. Douglas, Lincoln, and P. E. Douglas, Hastings;
two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Richardson, Lincoln and Mrs. Leota Sheets, Ottumwa, Iowa;
and four grandchildren."
September 17, 1939 " Miss Vera K Morris,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Morris of Firth, was married Sunday
at Firth to Robert B. Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Douglas. The couple will live in Lincoln. Mr. Douglas will be graduated in January from the University of Nebraska engineering' college."
Edna, born February 4, 1921 in Fort Morgan Colorado, married Harvey L Gates on July 3, 1941 Lincoln, Nebraska. They are the parents of Kenneth, Harold & Douglas.
"Edna Gates, 93, of Lincoln, died Aug. 21, 2014. Born Feb. 4, 1921 Ft. Morgan, Colo. to George W. & Edna P. (Kyle) Douglas. Lifelong resident Lincoln. Graduate: College View High School, 1938 (Salutatorian) and beauty school. She married Harvey L Gates on July 3, 1941 Lincoln. Married 69 years. Edna and Harvey started the Buffalo Motel in 1949, which became a Lincoln landmark business.
Edna was active in the Lincoln Cosmopolitan Club. She was very active in Lincoln and Nebraska State Bowling Associations. Elected into the Nebraska Bowling Hall of Fame. Member of Lincoln Hillcrest Country Club. Active member and competitor Lincoln Women's Golf. Edna was 1st Lady of Sesostris Shrine Temple 1980 with her Past Potentate husband, Harvey. Active in the Shrine Covered Wagons RV camping unit. Secretary of Nebraska Nut Growers Association.

Robert B Douglas; sister, Edith Heckman. Edna is survived by sons
(and spouses) Kenneth (Jo Anne) Gates of Loveland, Colo.;

July 4, 1941 "Miss Edna Douglas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
G. W. Douglas, was married to Harvey Gates, son of Mrs. Rose G. Gates,
at a ceremony performed at the home of the bride at 8 p. m. Thursday.
The bride wore a powder blue redingote dress with white accessories
and a gardenia corsage. Miss Edith Douglas was her sister's only
attendant. She wore beige and a rose corsage. Gail Smith was best man.
Garden flowers formed the background for the ceremony.
Only the families were present, including Mrs. Mary Koser of Sutton.
The couple will be at home in Lincoln following a short trip."
Edna & Harvey started the landmark Buffalo Hotel in 1949. She's buried
in Lincoln # 134730487.
February 1, 1942 "Miss Edith Douglas,
aughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Douglas, became the bride of
Bryce K. Heckman, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Heckman of Hickman,
at an 8 O’clock ceremony Saturday evening at her parents' home.
Rev. Morton Hpenre officiated In the presence of 22 guests,
before a background of pink and white roses. The bride wore a navy blue
dress and a white gardenia corsage. Her attendant, Mrs. Harry L. Gates,
wore a gold colored dress with black accessories and a corsage
of talisman roses. Dwight Heckman was best man and Mildred Johnson
furnished the music. At the reception following the ceremony,
roses centered the table and Mrs. G. K. Douglas served. The couple will
reside in Lincoln. "

April 19, 1965 Beatrice "Guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Baker were Mrs. Baker's sister, Mrs. Edna Douglas, and Alvin Fink, both of Lincoln."
Myrtle M. Kyle, 19, married George C. Baker on May 16, 1907 in Wymore, Nebraska.
He was the son of Lee C. and Mary Baker.
They were in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1920, George a railroad engineer.
In 1930 Lincoln, they have Vernon W. 21, Iva Mae 18, Theresa 11, and Robert E. 5.
May 20, 1957 "Mr. and Mrs. George C. Baker celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary Sunday, May 12, with open house at their home from
2:00 to 5:00 p. m. Two hundred friends, relatives and neighbors called
to help them celebrate the occasion. The table was decorated with
a beautiful centerpiece from the Eastern Star, gold candles,
and a three tier cake topped with a miniature bride and groom.
Mr. and Mrs. Baker have lived in Nebraska during their entire lifetime,
with the exception of a few years when, Mr. Baker lived in Oklahoma
as a boy. They were married May 16, 1907, at the home of the bride's
mother, Mrs. Theresa Kyle, in Wymore. Mr. Baker worked for the
Burlington Railroad for 47 years, retiring in April, 1949.
Present for the occasion were their four children,
eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
They are: Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Goth and two daughters, Omaha;
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Baker, Lincoln; and their daughter, Mrs. Glen Churchill, Teni and Toby, Austin, Minn.;
Mr. and Mrs, R. D. Pierce and daughters, Bobette and Barbara, Mission, Kan.;
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Baker and family, Kansas City, Kan.
Other guests who remained for a longer visit were her brothers,
Charley Kyle and Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Kyle, Flagler, Colo.;
her sister, Mrs. Edna Douglas, Lincoln; his sister, Mrs. Winnie Taylor, Beaver, Okla.; and a brother, Art Baker, of Minneapolis, Minnesota."
