In 1910 John is farming alone, next to Henry, in Kit Carson County. He's living with Henry in 1920.
J.M. Simmons was a witness to the marriage of James H. Simmons and Futha G. Eldred in Burlington on April 22, 1914.
HENRY
In 1900 Smith County, Kansas, Henry Simmons is farming, born October 1868 in Indiana,
married two years to Ida M. Feb 1881 Iowa.
Hallie Avis Simmons was born May 23, 1883 in Edgar County, Illinois to Howard C. Moyer and Hannah Little.
She's with them in 1900 Edgar County, Howard 46, Hannah M. 42, Hallie 17, Hugh M. 15, Omar A. 7, Lowell E. 5, Randall A. 3, and Arthur C. 1.
Howard 1853-1923 is buried in Norton, Kansas # 49760162,
with Hannah 1857-1914 # 49760161.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Henry F. Simmons is 41, born in Indiana,
second marriage to Hallie 26 born in Illinois - her first marriage.
They have his son Fielden H. 10 born in Kansas.
(Fielding Harrison Simmons, when he registered for WWI in Denver, a chauffeur,
said he was born September 26, 1899, and his nearest relative was his
father Henry Simmons of Seibert.)

In 1930 Hallie is in Denver, married but no spouse, 46, with Rinta 19, Howard 18, Norman 16, Myrtle E. 14, and Hughbert 13.
Avis Simmons is in San Francisco in 1940, a maid, divorced, with the Lucien and Sylvia Lehmann family. She was in Denver in 1935.
In 1940 Rinta Harper is in Denver, 29, with Robert Harper 44 born in Mississippi Neither have an occupation.
Rinta and Robert are living at 3433 West 44th Street in Denver in 1959.
Robert died in April 1967 - born July 31, 1895.
She died December 15, 2001.
Henry Fielden Simmons 1868-1941 is buried in Saint Francis Kansas, # 126639420 "Son of Samuel Simmons and Margaret A. Strain."
Howard Merritt Simmons married Edna M. Chinberg on January 4, 1937 in Denver. They're on Lincoln Street
in Denver in 1940, where he's a wholesale milk deliveryman. Edna is 24, Arlan 2 and Ivan six months, all born in Colorado.
Arlan Lee Simmons was born December 11, 1937, dying September 15, 1989. One record says he died in Fairfild Ohio, although living in Portland, Oregon, but a relative said he died in Portland.
In 1940 Denver, Norman Simmons is 26, married to Marie 27 Missouri. Harold F. (this must be Harry) 40 is living with them.
Norman Cy Simmons 1913-1995 is buried in Boulder City, Nevada # 103895432, WWII Navy.
Hugh Emerson Simmons 1916-2008 is buried in Tahoma National # 44946802, Navy WWII, with Mildred E. Simmons 1913-2002.
FLORENCE
Because Samuel died in Kit Carson County, Florence, who married Harold in Grand Junction December 22, 1919 could have been there, too.
Harold S., a plumber, and Florence B. are in Glendale, California in 1930, with Eunice I. 8,
Beulah L. 7, and Ione B. 3, all born in Colorado. Margaret S. Simmons, a practical nurse, is with them.
SSDI has all three daughters born in Fruita (Mesa County) Colorado.
Harold S. Kettle, born in Colorado March 20, 1965, died March 20, 1965 in San Luis Obispo County, mother's maiden name Herrold.
Florence, born February 19, 1901 in Kansas, died July 12, 1990 in Los Angeles County.
Samuel 1850-1928 Kettle is buried in Fruita Colorado "Samuel S. KETTLE and Union Netta HERROLD were married on 24 Mar 1882 in Sinker Creek, Idaho. Union and Samuel had three granddaughters who travelled for seven years as backup singers with Gene Autry's show."
Gene Autry biography says that after his 1945 discharge from service in the USO
The sisters appeared with Gene in 1949 "Riders of the Whistling Pines."

with Effie 33 in Iowa. Maggie is 13, James 11, Earl 9, Walter 6, Frankie 4, Lorenzo 2 and Florence three months.
In 1905 Norton County, Kansas, S. M. Simmons is 40, E.B. 38, M.S. 18, J. H. 16, Erl 13, W. F. 11, F.W. 9, M.L. 7., F. B. 5, and A.B. 1.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Maggie is 23, born in Kansas, with brothers James H. 21 and S. Earl 19, both born in Nebraska.
Maggie S. Simmons proved up a quarter in 24, 6S 49W in 1914.
In 1940 Los Angeles, Margaret is 54, a housekeeper for a private family. She was in Glendale, California in 1935. She's living with sister Florence Kettle 40 born iN Kansas and her husband Harold. Eunice 19, Beulah 17, and Ione 13 were all born in Colorado.
WALTER
Walter married Mary Martindale of Norton County, Kansas, and they had Nola on December 28, 1916 in Kit Carson County. Nola Scribner died January 28, 2004.
He registered for WWI with a Vona address, farming, born June 1893 at Kensington, Kansas, with a wife and two children.
They're in Delores County, Colorado in 1920, with Raymond 4, Nola 3, and Zula 1.
They're in Farmington, New Mexico in 1930 and 1940.
Walter 1893-1948 is buried in Farmington, with Mary 1885-1961 # 67379568.
Zula Agnes Simmons 1918-1939 is buried in Farmington # 55618573.
Raymond Fielden Simmons is buried in Aztec, New Mexico 1915-1962 # 61071220, an Air Force WWII technical sergeant.
Zula was on the Farmington girls softball team in 1939.
Nola is buried in Farmington, New Mexico, # 8331575 - the same county as parents
"Nola B. Scribner, 87, a long-time resident of Odessa, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at her residence. She was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Seibert, Colo., and lived on the family homestead in Dove Creek, Colo., for several years.
Her family moved to Farmington, where she graduated from high school. She married Robert Keith Scribner July 10, 1935, in Farmington. She was devoted to her family. Her husband of 69 years filled her life with adventure, joy and abiding love. She took great delight in her son, grandsons, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Special interests included bowling in several Odessa leagues, enjoying vacations with her grandsons at the family cabin in Colorado, crafts and needlework. She was a Methodist.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Keith Scribner of Odessa; son, Robert Keith Scribner Jr. and wife Barbara of Odessa; brother, Walter L. Simmons of Odessa; three grandchildren, Kevin, Steven and David Scribner; four great-grandchildren, Sean, Tyler, Taylor and Madison Scribner; and family friend, Cindy Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Martindale Simmons;
brothers, Kenneth Simmons, Raymond Simmons and Marvin Simmons; and sister, Zula A. Simmons."
JAMES
In 1900 Mitchell County, Kansas, Georgena Eldred,
born Nov 1888, is with parents James P. 45 and Flora M. 34 Eldred. Maggie is 17, Fanny June 1886, Lenora 8, Bertha 4, and Esther six months.
In 1910 "F. Georgia" is 21, the assistant post-mistress at Glen Elder, Kansas, living with parents.
Georgia's sister Ruth married James Garnhart in Vona, and was killed by a gas leak in Pueblo in 1930.
James and "Futha G." married April 22, 1914 in Burlington.
James H. proved up a quarter in 32, 6S 48W in 1915.
F. Georgia Simmons, formerly Eldred, proved up two quarters
in 20, 7S 48W in 1917.
They're in Denver in 1920, where James says he's a farmer, with Maurice 4, Fertha 2, and Virgil eight months old.
They're farming in Prowers County, Colorado in 1930, with Maurice 15, Futha 13, Virgil 11, and Juanita 8.
They're next to Georgia's mother Flora Eldred, 64, widowed and her three adult kids. The widowed Riley Garnhard 36 iwth three daughters ae with Flora, too.
In 1940 James and Georgia are in Stanislaus County, California with J. M (Maurice) 25, Rena 22, Virgil 20, and Juanita 18. They all were in Canon City in 1935.
James Hiram Simmons 1888-1986 is buried in Hughson, California, with Futha 1888-1971.
Rena S. Tennant born January 18, 1917, died July 18, 2010. In 1970 she was in Napa, California, with Windston m. Tennant, a title insurance worker.
"Rena Simmons Tennant-Johnson, 93, a longtime Napa resident, passed away at home July 18, 2010.
Rena was preceded in death by her first husband, Winston Tennant. She is survived by her husband, Obediah “Swede” Johnson, Napa; brother, Maurice Simmons, and sister, Juanita Stephens, both of Modesto; and children, Winston “Stony” Tennant (Laura) of Dayton, Nev., Jana Martinez (Ray) of Napa, Tom Johnson (Linda), Susie Jacobson (Richard), Wayne Davidson (Linda Glass), all of Napa, John Johnson (Kathy) of Glendale, Ariz., Ed Davidson (Gwen) of Seattle, Wash., Vern Davidson of Livermore; 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 7 3/4 great-great-grandchildren"
Virgil Wayne Simmons, born April 10, 1919 died April 4, 2005.
"Virgil Wayne Simmons, son of James Hiram Simmons and Georgiana Futha Eldred Simmons, was born on April 10, 1919 in Fruita, CO. He passed away on April 4, 2005 in Ava, MO at the age of 85 years."

He was probably born April 30, 1865 in Boone County, Indiana to Samuel and Margaret (Strain) Simmons, dying January 2, 1944.
