Henry Goebel, 6 South 44 West


In 1900 Kit Carson County, Henry E. Goebel is a ranch foreman, born January 1875 in Nebraska, - and John Yader is a herder Henry proved up a quarter in 33, 6S 44W in 1906.

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Henry is 35, married nine years to Mabel 28, Illinois, with Mabbel 7, Mildred 5, Ethel 3, and Ruth ten months.

In 1920 Kit Carson County, Henry is 44, Mary 34, with Mabel 17, Mildred 15, Ethel M. 12, Ruth I. 11, Helen M. 8, Edith C. 5, Elba L. 5, and Frances 2.
In 1930 Kit Carson County, Henry and Mary have Helen, Edith, Elva, Frances, and have added Henry 8, Keith 4, and Dale 1.
In 1940 Henry and Mary have Edith and Elva 23, Henry 18, Keith 15, and Dale 12.

Henry E. Goebel 1875-1955 is buried in Burlington, # 89182039, with Mary Jane (Chandler) Goebel 1882-1941.


She was the daughter of Virgineus and Elizabeth Chandler.

MABEL
Mabel Alice Gobel married Ernest James Rathbun in 1921, and they are buried in Greeley, - Mabel 1902-1973, # 13959400, and Ernest 1901-1973 # 13959397.

RUTH
Ruth married Carl John Bauder in 1927 - a nice story by Ruth Bauder.

HELEN
Helen M. Goebel Martens 1911-1941 is buried in Burlington # 94852394, with Roy 1909-1990.
"Mr. Martens is survived by a son, Dudley of Arvada; a daughter, Audrey Hendricks of Colorado Springs; a brother, Art of Burlington ; four sisters, Lillian Lockwood of Cornelius, Ore., Ruth Kirkpatrick of Prineville, Ore., Dorothy Lane of Aurora and Mabel McArthur of Burlington; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. "

ETHEL
Ethel May Goebel, age 18, married Ralph Jacober, age 30 in Burlington February 11, 1925.
Ethel May (Goebel) Jacober, born Feb 8, 1906, died in Colorado Springs June 7, 1979, daughter Helen M. Young o fCalhan, COlorado.

FRANCES
Frances married George John Henry Brenner in 1935, and is buried in Burlington 1917-2007 # 19934323.
George Brenner 1912-1961 is also buried in Burlington # 89392879.

On October 19, 1917, Frances was the ninth of 13 children born to Henry and Mary Goebel in Burlington, Colorado. She lived her whole life in the Burlington area.
She attended school in Burlington until the 10th grade.
She married George John Henry Brenner on June 18, 1935 in Burlington, Colorado. They lived on "The Ranch" on the far north side of Kit Carson County for many years. The life of women on a ranch in those days was very difficult. They had an adobe house with no running water, electricity or inside plumbing. With a wood stove, a tub and a wash board she took care of her family and the crew of her husband's threshing and corn shelling business. Frances raised pigs and it is told that it was from the sale of the pigs that the home place was paid off.
From her marriage to George two children were born. First, was Georgia Jean and two years later Jerry Ray.
George John Brenner died in December of 1961. Jerry was in the US Army and was discharged to return home and with his mother assume the operation of "The Ranch".
Frances was a great cook. She said her mother taught her how to bake very early in her life. For 23 years she was the cook at the Burlington Elementary School. This was not typical school lunch food. It was "Francis' food"!
She was active in the First Christian Church for many years. Frances played a major role in the Church's county fair food booth. For years she made the "juicy burgers" and her best contribution was her pies. It was not unusual for her to provide 5 pies a day over the 6 day run of the county fair.
She leaves a loving family of Jerry and his wife, Loahna, of Burlington, CO, daughter, Georgia Jean, and husband, Jerrol, Davis of Lakewood, CO, and five grandchildren, Rick Davis and his wife, Kim, Cindy Marino and her husband, Greg, Danyel Brenner, Dr. Bradley Brenner, Sean Brenner and his wife, Sharon. There are eight great grandchildren, Jonathan and Jindy Davis, Chelsea and Breanna Marino, Taylor, Brooklyln , Alexis and Hunter Brenner. She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings, Sisters Mabel Rathburn, Mildred Stump, Ethel Jacober, Helen Martens, Ruth Bauder, Edith Thompson, Elva Warner, Nina Goebel and Brothers Henry Goebel, Keith Goebel, Dale Goebel and Lawrence Goebel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brenner were held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church in Burlington with Reverend Paul Barker officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington.


MILDRED
Mildred Goebel married George I. Stump on January 12, 1927, recorded in Yuma County.
In 1930 Yuma County, George I. Stump, 30, and Ellen M. Stump, 25, both born in Colorado, are farming.
In 1940 Kit Carson County, George 40 and Mildred E. 35 have no children.
George Stmp born April 1, 1900, died April 1981, last residence Cozuille.
In 1970 George Stump, executor of the estate of Mildred Ellen Stump, announced notice of settlement.
