Funeral services for A-1C Roy Gene Simons, of Youngstown, who died Thursday, will be held today at 8 p.m. in the Youngstown Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Davis conduction. Burial will be in the Youngstown Cemetery. Military personnel will serve as active pallbearers.

Former Indian Grid Star Dead
Death came last Thursday morning to 22 year old Roy Simons at the Wilford AFB hospital at San Antonio, Texas. Roy is the son of Mrs. Viola Simons of Yuma. He had been in ill health for the past several months.
Burial was made in Florida with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Morris of Flagler and Freda Simons of Yuma attending. The obituary is not available for this week's publication.
Simons graduated from the Yuma High School with the class of 1963. He was an outstanding lineman of the Indians' 1962 All-State Champion grid squad, regarded as the greatest by many.

Obituary of Roy Simons
Roy Gene Simons was born to Tony and Viola Simons of Yuma on May 25, 1945, and died November 9, 1967. Services and burial were held at Youngstown, Florida.
He grew up in the Yuma community where he attended school and joined the Air Force in July of 1963. He passed away in San Antonio, Texas as a Sergeant.
He was united in marriage to Mary Lee Miles in December of 1965 and one child, Antiona Maxine, was born to this union.
He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters. Survivors include his wife and daughter; mother, Mrs. Viola Simons; sisters, Florence Morris of Flagler and Freda Ann Simons of Yuma; three brothers, Frederick of Hunting Beach, California, Ralph E. of the Air Force in Massachusetts and Joe of Greeley; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Robinson of Yuma, many other relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Morris and Mary Lee of Flagler and Freda Ann Simons attended the services in Florida.
