Benjamin (Bud) Bowman, a former Yuma boy was killed in a car accident at Seattle, Washington on March 15 according to his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Clawson.

The family lived in Yuma several years ago and Bud attended the Yuma grade school. During the past six years he has served in the Navy, and recently, had re-enlisted and expected to be sent to Alaska. At the time of the accident, he and a friend were returning to Seattle from a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Bowman, living in Portland, Oregon. He was twenty-six years of age. Last October he and two sisters spent thirty days visiting with the Clawsons and friends in Yuma.

The funeral service was conducted by the Navy in Seattle and burial was made in the Navy cemetery at that place. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Bowman, five sisters; Mary Lee, Billy Jean, Marietta, Dixie and Loraine. His uncles Ben Clawson of Yuma and Jim Clawson of Denver flew to Seattle to attend the funeral.
