About the USA GenWeb Project

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

In June, as the Kentucky project was nearing completion, it was decided to start a page for each of the remaining states, and as with the Kentucky project, volunteers were found to host the state pages. For current information on the USGenWeb Project, visit the project home page at www.usgenweb.org.

If you would like to contribute your data or create a county page within a given state, please contact the person responsible for maintaining that state and/or county. To adopt a Colorado County contact our State Coordinator, Sundee Maynez, at sundeecmaynez@adelphia.net.

If you have data for Yuma County that you are willing to contribute to the project or if you are willing to lookup Yuma County information in references you own for other researchers contact : mdmonk2@tx.rr.com. We need your data and references!
