Mason was born July 4, 1867 in Lee County, Iowa, and he's in Seward County, Nebraska in 1880, a hired hand for the Whitten farm.

Mason J. Wagey cash-claimed a quarter in sections 15 and 22, 1S 43W in 1891. He had a record of a timber claim in 8S 48W (that would be near Flagler-Stratton) but it wasn't completed.
In 1900 Saline County, Nebraska, Mason, born July 1868 in Illinois, is a grain buyer, married four years to Eva May 1870 Canada, immigrating in 1880. They have Harold C. July 1899 Nebraska,.
They're still there in 1910.
In 1916 the Cooperative Journal wore about Cambridge Nebraska, "The manager, Mr. Wagey, has placed it on its feet so that today, we understand, they are practically or altogether out of debt, the credit beeing largely due Mr. Wagey."
Mason J. Wagey and family arrived in Yuma about 1916. He started at
least three and perhaps as many as five elevators along the Burlington
railroad.
In 1919 he bought grain dumps for both Yuma and Hyde locations.
1921 "Towner, Colorado "M.J. Wagey will build a 12,000 bushel cribbed, iron-clad elevator at this place. W.C. Bailey & Son has been awarded the contract.
Platner - M. J. Wagey, of Yuma Colo., has bought the C.C. Miller elevator at this place. Mr. Wagey will remodel the elevator and incrase the capacity to 32,000 bushels."
In 1920 Yuma, Mason 59, born in Illinois of German parents, is a grain dealer. Sarah E. 44 Canada, Harold C. 20 N, Clara A. 17, and Eveline R. 3 were all three born in Nebraska.
About 1920 he sold his businesses and the family moved to Denver.
He was in a court case in Yuma County in 1923 vs. People of the State of Colorado.
The Grain Dealers Journal said "M.J. Wagey, formerly of Yuma and later running an elevator at Platner, was found guilty of giving a short check for a load of wheat, by a juryin the counrtycourt of Wray."
In 1921 he sold the Hyde elevator to the Farmers M & M of Yuma. V.H. Ward ws to be the manager.
We don't know which of the three photographs above is that of the Yuma
elevator, located on the south side of the tracks a block west
of Main.
Evelyn R. Wagey married Sherwood T. Turner February 17, 1935, recorded in Arapahoe County.
She's buried in Crown Hill 1916-2004 # 67860101.
In 1930 Denver, Mason is managing an apartment hotel, 62, with Etta 55 born in Canada. Clara E. Schiller, daughter, is 28, married but no spouse, a saleslady in a dry good store, has William H. 4 and Margaret 3.
Sara Etta (Christner) died January 17, 1939 and is buried in Wheat Ridge.
FindaGrave # 60496593 says her mother Mary Ann (Fowler) Christner 1850-1912 is buried in Douglas County, Missouri.
Mason J. Wagey's case was in Jefferson County probabe in December 1953.
