Postcard photograph of the original Methodist Church in Wray circa 1901.
Scanned by Dallas Riedesel.
(Looking East-Southeast from today's 5th and Blake.)
This Methodist Church stood on the same 5th and Blake lot as today's church. The photograph is easy to date since the Methodist building committee laid the corner stone for this building in 1899, dedicated it in 1900 and in 1902 erected a parsonage in the empty lot that shows on the left immediately behind the church.
This building burned to the ground in November 1949 when the furnace exploded in the middle of an addition and remodeling project. Two years later the current church building was dedicated.
