Saturday in Vernon. Presbyterian Church on the left. Ladies gathered on the porch of the Wakefield-Stevens general store, a few boys gathered on the porch of the postoffice and drug store. Majority of the crowd north of town in Deterdings pasture for the Saturday afternoon baseball game. That's the mail vehicle backed up to the postoffice. The stairs on the side of the general store lead up to the theater. Looks like the crew working on the church went off to play baseball.

Photographer was on the platform of the town windmill for this shot. Red arrow on the map below shows direction of the photograph.
