Old Photos of Idalia

From the Coston Collection - photographs date from 1920s. Scanned by Lee Zion
From a set of original 8x10s for the photographs that were published in an Idalia area promotion book circulated around the US.

Above - Saint John's Church, the church parsonage and the Starr grade school on the left in the distance. The church, remodeled to add a fellowship hall, still stands 2 miles south and 1½ miles east of Idalia.

Below - The school built across the road from the Starr grade school to house the first Idalia area high school. Thats the Saint John's Cemetery across the road from the church behind the school. Part of what must be the Franz Helling farmstead beyond the cemetery.
