Alma Jewell was born January 31, 1890 in Nuckolls County Nebraska to James S. Jewell and Ora C. Milner, dying October 1956 as Alma Jewell Laturno.
James S. Jewell died in 1917, and is buried in Yuma # 50842380,
with Ora dying in 1959 # 50842384.
In 1900 Ida County, Iowa, Joseph Laturno is 45, Mary 38, Joseph 17, James 15, Maggie 13, Genes 9, Elizabeth 7, Raymond 5, and Emma 2.
In 1910 Crawford County, Iowa, Joseph is 54, Mary 47, Joseph 27, Agnes 19, Elizabeth 17, Rayond 15, Emma 12, and Mabel 9.
Emma married Leo Grady, and is buried in Portland as Emma Graves 1898-1987 # 141172787.
May 1909 "Jimmie LaTurno was homesteading the front end of the week seeing after the planting of his corn.
He reports things looking good to him and hopes to be able to furnish plenty of corn for his neighbors."
November 1910 "Jim LaTurno and Jack Jessup have opened an eating house in the rear of the W. O. Tuttle pool hall,
which will be known as the One Minute Lunch
Counter. The boys have a great many friends here and will undoubtedly make a success of their undertaking."

closing the deal yesterday. J. E. LaTurno will have charge of the business for the new owners,
while Mr. Nelson, with Mrs. Nelson, will devote his full time to their store and bakery."
March 1914 "Mrs. J. E. LaTurno and sister, Miss Ruth Jewell, left Monday night for Guide Rock, Nebr.,
to visit relatives and friends."
October 1914 "Mr. and Mrs. J. E. LaTurno now occupy rooms in the Shrock residence, having moved
in last Friday."
James Joseph LaTurno was born at Yuma December 7, 1915, dying November 1943.
February 1917 "James Laturno and family of Yuma motored through Wray yesterday morning on
their way to Superior, Nebraska, where they go to visit with relatives and friends."
May 1917 "Mr.and Mrs. James LaTurno and children, who came down last week to attend the funeral of Mrs. LaTurno's father, the late James S. Jewell, returned to Greeley Monday."

Maxine Laturno married Fred Folte on Sept 3, 1939, recorded in Arapahoe County.
She registered as Ruth Maxine Foltz in 1942, and Ruth M. Hose in 1958.
Ruth Maxine Laturno was born July 17, 1920 at Yuma, marrying Francis J. Hose, and is buried in Mount Olivet 1920-2003 # 143592542, wtih Francis J. 1913-1992.
June 24, 2003 "Born : To Mike and Kim Baumbach of Greeley, a daughter, Hannah Louise.
Grandparents are John and Shirley Kemper and Diane Fitzgerald, all of Longmont, and Chuck and Margie Baumbach of Gill.
Great - grandparent is Micki Hose of Denver."
Died : Ruth M. Hose of Denver. Wife of the late Francis J. Hose.
Mother of Diane Fitzgerald, Randy Hose, Nancy (Joe) Heffner, Darlene (Dan) Farley, Stephen (Lorrie) Hose and Patricia Bradley. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law of Charles E. Welsh, Virginia Percival and Ann Marsh. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary. Entombment, Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Assoc., Rocky Mountain Chapter, 789 Sherman, Denver, CO 80203.

October 1915 Manilla Iowa "Raymond LaTurno of Yuma, Colo., arrived here last Wednesday for a visit with his father and sisters at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S.E. VanOrsdol and with Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Potter."
Raymond was in New York in 1920, single, a chauffer. He's buried in Farmingdale 1895-1953 # 2732448, with Catherine 1894-1966.
JOSEPH
The tree said James' father Joseph H. LaTurno (LaTourneau) was born 1856 in Quebec, and died in Walkertown Iowa in 1943.
December 15, 1943 "Funeral services were held at 9 a m Monday from the Sacred Heart Catholic church for Joseph L. LaTurno, 87, who died at his home here Saturday The services were conducted by the Rev Father Hyland and burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery He was born in Canada and came to Manilla many years ago and engaged in work of a carpcn- tei and biicklayei."

James' sister Margaret married Fred L. Gilbert in 1907 in Ida Grove, and is buried in Portland Oregon 1887-1983 # 141183706, with Fred 1882-1951.
James' sister Agnes Smith 1890-1959 is buried in Linn County, Iowa # 40507126.
