April 23, 1907 Grand Junction, Colorado " This morning William E. Sharp, who met a horrible death at the Sinbad mines Saturday afternoon, was laid to rest in Orchard Mesa cemetery. Junction Lodge No. 1-1 Knights of Pythias, were in charge of the service at the grave and the impressive service this lodge employs in consigning to earth a departed brother was carried out in all its perfect beauty. There was a large representation of the lodge membership in attendance.

April 29, 1907 "Card of Thanks

I wish to thank the many kind friends and neighbors, Junction Lodge No. 124 Knights of Pythias and those brave, kind, fellow-workmen at the distant mine, for their kindness, aid, and sympathy in the death and burial of my husband, William E, Sharp. Such help is especially sweet and dear when far from any kin.
MRS. W. E. SHARP, 423 Chipeta Ave."

May 9, 1907 "County Judge Sullivan has not yet determined whether Mrs. W. E. Sharp, the widow of the mine superintendent who met a horrible death three weeks ago, or whether Mrs. T. W. Stout, daughter of the dead man by his first wife, shall be the administratrix of the estate. The widow denounces as false the charge that she was not legal wife of Mr. Sharp that he had never been divorced from his first wife. It is declared that her marriage certificate and the divorce decree can be produced. The estate is very small, consisting of only a block of mining stock and personal property."
May 15, 1907 "This morning Mrs. Alice Link Sharp, widow of William E. Sharp, the mine superintendent of the Sinbad company, who met a frightful death three weeks ago, was appointed as administratrix of the estate of her late husband by County Judge Sullivan and thus concluded the spirited contest between Mrs. Sharp and Mrs. T. W. Stout, a daughter of the deceased, by his first wife. Judge Sullivan announced this morning when the case was called at ten o'clock that he would no longer allow the administration of the estate to be held up. but would appoint Mrs. Sharp as the administratrix and refused to appoint Mrs. Stout as such. The letter of administration was issued to Mrs. Sharp and she was at once empowered to administer the estate. Mrs. Stout and her attorney, Mr. Davis, will probably now endeavor to question Mrs. Sharp's right to inherit a widow's portion of the estate. as Mrs. Stout charges that her father was never divorced from her mother, his first wife. As announced yesterday the court placed the burden of the .proof on Mrs. Stout and she must show that no divorce was ever granted. Yesterday afternoon Attorney Wheeler, representing Mrs. Sharp, received a telegram from a prominent banker in a city in Nebraska informing him, in answer to an inquiry by wire, that William E. Sharp had secured a divorce in the courts in that city from his first wife. Attorney Wheeler would not grant Attorney Davis' request to make public the telegram in the court room, as Attorney Wheeler is not legally called upon to do so as it is not up to his client to prove that the divorce was granted, the burden of the proof resting with the other side.:

November 1907 Grand Junction "Mrs. Alice L. Sharp, who last year built a large greenhouse at 423 Chlpeta street and in which it was expected that she and Mr. Sharp would engage in the florist business, but which was abandoned after the tragic death of Mr. Sharp at the Sinbad mines, will shortly open up the greenhouse and furnish it with every equipment for the business of conducting a first class florist establishment. Mrs. Sharp will maintain an office down town where orders can be left, and she will be prepared at all times to furnish cut flowers or rent plants for entertainments. Mrs. Sharp is a florist and understands the business in which she is about to engage and will undoubtedly make a success of the new venture in this city."
