1904 Yuma Pioneer "The following were here last Monday
night in attendance upon the Daley-Sloan wrestling match in
the Clark opera house; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Huey, Mrs. Bryant,
Miss Frances Johnson, and Messrs. Karl Hebb, Fred Cole,
Jim La Turno, Jesse Dickson, John Davis, John Bryant,
Jim Muir, And 'Rack-em-up' John Crowley and last,
but not least, the jovial editor of the Yuma Pioneer,
Bert Jessup, who arrived .. Akron on a late train
to escort the bunch back home safely."
December 14, 1906 "John Bryant, our tonsorial artist, will add another chair in his shop next month and put in a
hot and cold bath outfit."
January 1907 "Mr. Rhoades is doing the tonsorial act while John Bryant is out looking after the improvements on his homestead."
August 1907 Yuma "John Bryant expects to make his parental home in Iowa a visit in a few days."

September 1907 "John Bryant, our progressive tonsorial artist, is making plans to build a residence 30 x 30 in the very near future. We judge
from this that all reports must be true and he is tired of single cussedness."
November 1907 "John Bryant has moved into his new quarters and Yuma can
boast of aboutthe 'swellest' tonsorial parlor between Denver and McCook."
December 1907 "John Bryant is having an awning placed on the barber shop."
"John Bryant will give a dance on Christmas eve in his hall and he promises the
best of order. New music will be furnished for the evening."
John L. Bryant, born in Silver City Iowa to
Lyman Bryant and Kate Blair, married Jessie Maude Coppoock,
daughter of Jacob Coppock and Margaret Tucker
, on July 1, 1908 in Mills County, Iowa.
September 11, 1908 Yuma "Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Bryant departed Tuesday afternoon for Iowa where they were called by wire stating the death of his Mother."
October 1908 "Homer Huntsman of Glenwood, Iowa, visited
this week with his relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Bryant."

July 9, 1909 "Johnnie Bryant is the happy dad of a ten pound girl, the little
lady arriving Tuesday morning."
August 1909 "Mrs. J. Coppock of Henderson Iowa is visiting her daughter, Mrs. John Bryant."
"Mrs. Johnnie Bryant and little daughter have returned from Iowa nd Johnnie is now eating three regular meals."
October 1909 "Johnnie Bryant is branching out as one of the 'boss barbers'.
He has purchased the barber shop of Trenton, Nebraska and has placed Guy Mollison in charge of same."
In 1910 John is a barber in Yuma, 26, with Jessie M. 19.
Jessie has had one child, still living, but she's not listed on the census...
July 1910 "Jack Brown the barber formerly employed by John Bryant as tonsorial artist, left Friday morning for Rapid City, S.D. where he will make his future home."

In 1940 John L. is 55, Jessie M. 48, with Cecelia 21, Wayne 18, and John Eldon 2.

HAZEL
Hazel B. Penwell 1909-2003 is buried in Montgomery County # 117946234.
So is Howard G. Penwell 1809-1984.
PAULINE
Pauline married Wesley Cooney on Nov 1, 1929 in Montgomery County. They're in Montgomery COunty in 1940, Wesley 32, Pauline 28, Kermit 8, Kennerd 7, and Weldon 5.
November 21, 1982 "Services for Pauline Cooney, 71, a Corning insurance agent will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Corning United Methodist Church. She died Friday at a Des Moines hospital of Injuries received in a traffic accident. Survivors Include her husband, Wes; three sons, Karmit, Kennard, and Weldon, all of Corning. "
Wesley 1908-1986 is buried in Corning, Iowa # 82762569.
"Wesley Clinton Cooney, son of Clinton Joseph and Mary Adelia Moates Cooney, was born March 21, 1908 in Washington Township, Montgomery County, Iowa and entered into rest February 12, 1986 in Rosary Hospital, Corning, Iowa at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 21 days.
He attended rural schools in Taylor and Adams Counties and spent his entire life as a farmers, retiring from the farm in 1976.
November 1, 1929, he was united in marriage with Margaret Pauline Bryant of Villisca, Iowa. Three sons were born to this union, Karmit, Kennard, and Weldon.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife Pauline.
Survivors include three sons, Karmit Eugene and wife Doris, Kennard Dean and wife Barbara and Weldon Charles and wife Carol, all of Corning, his aunt, Velda Cooney of Villisca, 10 grandchildren, Larry, Tommy, Tim, randy, Kent and Tammy Cooney, Terri Peterson, Lori Crawford, Debra McKay, and Linda Dixon; 12 great-grandchildren, Chelsi and Melissa Freemyer, August, Sean, and Michaela Cooney, Brian, Toni, and Bryce Peterson, Julie and Jennifer McKay, Jennifer Clark and Bradley Crawford, several sister-in-law and brother-in-law and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Gauthier Funeral Home in Corning, February 15, at 1:30 p.m. with Joseph Cook officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Corning, Iowa."
RALPH
Ralph is buried in Ida County, Iowa 1916-1993 # 37661853, with
Audrey (Northup) Bryant 1920-2011.
"
Had a grocery store, Ralph's Clover Farm, in Battle Creek unti retiring in the 90s.
On April 24, 1938, Audrey was united in marriage to Ralph Lyman Bryant. The couple was blessed with three children, Sherman, Kenneth, and Elaine. They lived in Villisca, Iowa, and several other Iowa towns until purchasing a grocery store in Battle Creek, Iowa. They owned and operated Ralph's Clover Farm until retiring in the early '90's."
ORCELIA
Orcelia was born August 19, 1918 in Grant, Iowa, dying February 14, 2003 as Lukehard. She was names Selders in 1957.
WAYNE OTTO
Wayne, born July 15, 1921 in Grant, Iowa, died June 9, 2013 in Potawattamie County, Iowa, buried there with Chyrl 1920-1975.
JOHN ELDON
John was born October 18, 1937, and married Karen Ann Smith on July 30, 1960 in Worth County, Missouri.
He was living in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1988 and 1995.
