May 1911 "The young Lew Reed boy was slugged by a tramp near his home in the north part of town
last Monday night. The boy had been over town and was returning home when he was accosted by the stranger
who knocked him down but the boy proved too agile and was on his feet in an instant and knocked the tramp
down, but before he could get help the tramp had arisen and ran away. A careful search for him was made by
citizens and the marshal, but no trace of him could be found. This is the first instance we have heard of a
slugging in Wray."
January 1912 "
Mrs. Nota Endsley of Colorado Springs, who has been visiting her sister,
Mrs. L. K. Reed for the last week, returned to her home last Friday."
August 1912 "
L. K. Reed, living in north Wray is reported to be recovering from his
illness caused by gallstones."
April 1914
"Miss Matilda Weaver, daughter of Mrs. Lucinda Weaver of Hale precinct, and
Chas. Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Reed of Wray, were married at the home
of the bride's mother in Kirk on Sunday, March 29, at Hale. They are making
their home with the groom’s parents in Wray at present."
July 1916
"Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Reed returned yesterday morning from a short visit with
relatives at Boone, Iowa."
Sept 1917
"Mr. and Mrs. Lou Reed of this place left Saturday for Kansas City, where
Mrs. Reed goes for medical attention. They will visit their son Ross,
during their stay in that city."
October 1917
"J. A. Reed, of Guide Rock, Nebraska, who has been visiting his brother,
Lou Reed and family, left Tuesday for Denver and other western points where
he goes to seek relief from asthmatic troubles. He was accompanied by
Millard Huntslnger, a nephew, of Red Cloud, Nebraska."
January 25, 1917 "George Reed of Iowa, is in the city visiting his brother, Lew Reed, on the north side."
Louis is a railroad section hand, with Lydia in 1920 Wray.
September 1925
"Mrs. Neta Endsley of Long Beach, California, is here spending a few days
visiting her sister, Mrs. L. K. Reed."
Lydia Ann Reed was born February 22, 1849 in Indiana. She was married to L.
K. Reed who preceded her by 12 years in death. She was a resident of Wray,
Colo., for the past 24 years. She departed this life in Wray on August 11,
1930, being 81 years 5 months and 22 days old. One sister-in-law, Mrs. L. M.
Ainsley, came to Wray about a week ago and did all that could be done for
her comfort and was with her to the end. She was a member of the
Presbyterian church and often attended church when she was able, and always
seemed to enjoy each service and to be personally acquainted with her
Savior. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p. m. from the Richards
Funeral home. Rev. Hoag conducted the services. Interment was in Grandview
cemetery.

April 1914

July 1932 Wray " Mrs. Wm. Benson entertained at a birthday dinner in honor of Mr. Wm. Benson, Mrs. John I-Aham, Mrs. Geo. Murphy, and Bus Benson last Sunday. All of the four had birthdays in the first two weeks of July. The dinner was a great success and in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Murphy entertained with music. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Benson, Bus and Bernard Benson, and Grandma Aid of Wray, Colorado; Mrs. C. L. Emerson and children and Glen Lowe of Denver; Mr. and Mrs. James Gertsen and family of Akron; Mr. and Mrs. John Topham and family of Red Cloud, Nebraska; Mrs. Lucinda Weaver of Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. George Murphy and daughter, Mildred Evelyn of Flora, Illinois and Miss Esther Haug of Pasadena, California."
