Jolynn Kay (Stout) Gregor, age 64, died at her residence in Edwardsville on
April 1, 2018.
She was born Dec. 26, 1953, to Rev. Vernon and Fern (Thorell) Stout in

She grew up in Pittsfield and Decatur, graduated from Stephen Decatur High
School in 1971 and from Eureka College in 1975.
She married Dave Gregor in 1979 and they lived in Decatur and Bloomington
before moving to Edwardsville in 1985.
Jolynn retired in 2015 after working 25 years in the bursar's office at SIUE
and previously as a preschool teacher and Rosie the Riveter at General
Motors in Wentzville, Mo.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother: Rev. Stephen Stout; a
daughter: Leslie, and son: James, who both passed at birth.
Surviving are her husband: two sons: Daniel and Matthew, both of
Edwardsville; one sister: Joan Smith of Troy, Mo.,; a sister-in-law: Rev.
Jane Stout of Bagersville, Ind; Aunt Hazel Harden of Hermet, Calif.; Uncle
Rev. Frank Stout of Olney and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jolynn loved the people at ESIC Baptist Church and singing in the choir.
With great regret she leaves many dear friends, co-workers and church family
who prayed diligently for her and cared for her and her family since the
brain cancer diagnosis in May, 2014. Jolynn and her family have been humbled
and blessed with the care, concern and prayers of many during her illness
and we consider ourselves very fortunate.
A memorial service will be held on April 21, at ESIC Baptist Church in
Edwardsville.
