October 1928 Wray " Leslie Lovitt, of LaHarpe Illinois, left last week after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Warren Bowen and other friends in Wray. Mr. Lovitt came to this county in the early days; homesteading 6 miles south east of Wray in the spring of 1886. He is well known to the early settlers of the community.
'This country has certainly changed from the old days,' said Mr. Lovitt."

The Rev. Stephen G. Stout, 55, Cortland, Ohio, formerly of Decatur, died 10:20 a.m. Aug. 31, 2006, in Cortland Quality Care Center after a long illness. Memorial services were held in Cortland, Ohio and Dawson Springs, Ky. Memorials: Cortland Christian Church building fund, 153 Grove Drive, Cortland, OH 44410.

The Rev. Stout was born June 19, 1951, in Hodgenville, Ky., the son of Vernon and Fern Thorell Stout. He graduated from Eureka College, Brite Divinity School - Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania with a Doctor of Ministry degree. He lived in Cortland since July 11, 2005, formerly of Newton Falls, Ohio, for 10 years.

He married Jane E. Massamore on Dec. 30, 1977. He served as pastor of several Christian churches (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia, Ky. He most recently served as pastor of Cortland Christian Church from 1995 to 2005. He became minister emeritus of Cortland Christian Church in January 2006. He enjoyed traveling, listening to classical music, woodworking, reading, walking and encouraging the development of faith. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Kentucky and was active in the Lakeview Outreach Fellowship.

Surviving are his mother of Decatur; wife; son, Benjamin G. and Amanda Stout of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandson, Stephen Wilson Stout of Jacksonville; sisters, JoLynn and David Gregor of Edwardsville; Joan and Scott Smith of Troy, Mo.

Jolynn Kay (Stout) Gregor, age 64, died at her residence in Edwardsville on April 1, 2018.
She was born Dec. 26, 1953, to Rev. Vernon and Fern (Thorell) Stout in Hodgenville, Ky.
She grew up in Pittsfield and Decatur, graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1971 and from Eureka College in 1975.
She married Dave Gregor in 1979 and they lived in Decatur and Bloomington before moving to Edwardsville in 1985.
Jolynn retired in 2015 after working 25 years in the bursar's office at SIUE and previously as a preschool teacher and Rosie the Riveter at General Motors in Wentzville, Mo.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother: Rev. Stephen Stout; a daughter: Leslie, and son: James, who both passed at birth.
Surviving are her husband: two sons: Daniel and Matthew, both of Edwardsville; one sister: Joan Smith of Troy, Mo.,; a sister-in-law: Rev. Jane Stout of Bagersville, Ind; Aunt Hazel Harden of Hermet, Calif.; Uncle Rev. Frank Stout of Olney and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jolynn loved the people at ESIC Baptist Church and singing in the choir. With great regret she leaves many dear friends, co-workers and church family who prayed diligently for her and cared for her and her family since the brain cancer diagnosis in May, 2014. Jolynn and her family have been humbled and blessed with the care, concern and prayers of many during her illness and we consider ourselves very fortunate.
A memorial service will be held on April 21, at ESIC Baptist Church in Edwardsville.
