July 1950 "Mrs. Cecelia Downing of California called on Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Weaver Monday morning. The Charles Downing family formerly lived here about thirty-five years ago."
November 1951 " Warren Downing received word of the death of his aunt, Mrs. Charles Downing of California. Mrs. Downing and her late husband and sons lived in Vernon for several years and are well known by some of the older citizens. The family moved to Denver about 35 years ago. One son, William, and her husband, Charles, preceded her in death. She was brought to Denver for burial on Monday. The Warren Downings attended the funeral."
