So is Florence Grace (Shackley) Downing 1896-1996, # 30213163.
"Florence was the first born of five children. Her parents had a homestead in NE Colorado not far from where her two sets of grandparents lived. It is believed that she taught in a one room schools in the Burdette, Washington County, Colorado, which is very likely to have been the school that she was educated in.
Her sister, Anna was the next born, and then her brother, Floyd, then another sister Agnes, and finally another brother Billy.
It is believed that Florence married her first husband, Raymond Smith prior to her family moving to Arvada, which is near Denver in 1920. It is believed that she and her husband moved sometime after 1920 to Sibylee, Albany, Wyoming where they raised their family.
It was prior to my birth but it appears that Raymond Smith died and Florence married Arthur Downing. The Downings lived in Dallas OR where I visited them a number of times as a young teenager. Arthur died while I was in the service and Florence then lived with Eugene [Gene] Smith, who I think was an adapted son and his wife. It appears that upon her death her remains were returned to Dallas where she is buried with Arthur."
