DEE DANIEL DUNKIN, only child of JAMES and ALMA (ROBERTS) DUNKIN, b 23 Jan 1919, Haxton, Phillips Co., Colorado, m/2, 1/m, 4 Jul 1940, Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington to MILLICENT IRENE WILCOX, dau of CHESTER HARRISON and MAE B. (CROUCH) WILCOX, b 2 Apr 1920, Vancouver, div Oct 1978, six children, 2/m, 21 Dec 1979 to JEANETTE DIMOCK. He is an auto mechanic, employed in the Post Office Garage for more than 20 years. Dee and Millicent's six children: DONNA MARILYN, RONALD DEE, EDWARD DANIEL, DOUGLAS ALLEN, RICHARD EUGENE and JANET IRENE DUNKIN.


LUCY AND DAISY'S FAMILY

In 1860 Scott County, Iowa, Goodrich Hubbard is 43, Margaret 32, Hannah M. 14, JOHN 11, Angeleine 8, Martha 5, Eliza 3, and Thomas six months.

Goodrich died October 27, 1862 in Scott County, leaving a widows and six minor children.

In 1885 Jefferson County, Nebraska, John Hubbard is 35, Carrie 31, Lucy 4, and Daisy 2.

In 1900 Nemaha County, Nebraska, John Hubbard is a teamster, born April 1847 in Iowa, Carrie April 1851 in Kentucky. Lucy was born March 1882 in Iowa, Daisy Feb 1884 in Nebraska.

In 1910 Daisy was living in Yuma County with the Dunkins, and in 1930 is with her parents in Nemaha County.

1920 Council Grove, Kansas "Mrs. Hannah M. Tyler was born February 4, 1847, at Princeton, Iowa, and was married to Seneca Tyler at Davenport, Iowa, and resided at Rock Island, Illinois, for a few years, then coming to Kansas and making their home in Council Grove in 1878, where they both remained until death. Mrs. Tyler had gone to Auburn, Nebraska, very recently to visit her brother, Mr. John Hubbard. She was taken very ill while there and in only a few hours passed to her reward, her husband having preceded her about two years ago. The remains were brought to Council Grove for burial. Mrs. Tyler leaves to mourn her death one brother, John Hubbard, of Auburn, Nebraska, and one sister, Mrs. Martha Hogan of Cozad, Neb. There are also two nieces and two nephews. Mr. Safely, a nephew, and Miss Daisy Hubbard on account of illness were unable to attend the funeral service which was held at the Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. J. S. Stevenson, in charge. The remains were laid by the side of her husband in Greenwood cemetery. "

Martha J. Hogan 1854-1925 is buried in Dawson County, Nebraska # 21668860.

In 1940 Nemaha County, Daisy is 36, and mother Caroline 87 is with her. They hae a hired hand, Ernest J. Rose 56.

Daisy is buried in Auburn, Nebraska 1883-1982 # 67731159.

FRANCIS AND LUCY

Francis G. Dunkin, 22, son of J.W. and Jennie Dunkin, married Lucy M. Hubbard on December 22, 1902 in Auburn, Nebraska.
Lucy was 22, born in Iowa to John and Carrie Hubbard.
1907 Yuma "A. C. Van Syoe and F. G. Dunkin of Nebraska registered Thursday at the Weld."

In 1910 Yuma County, Francis is farming, Lucy M., both 29, with Francis Jr. 6, Lawrence 3, and Harold 2,, all three born in Nebraska, and Lloyd eight months born in Colorado.
Living with them is Lucy's sister Daisy Hubbard, 26, born in Nebraska.

August 1910 "Mrs. Frank Dunkin and four sons are visiting in eastern Nebraska."

1910 "Mr. Dunkin now has a gasoline engine attached to his corn sheller, and says easier than to turn it by hand."


March 1911 "Frank Dunkin commenced Spring work this week, he hauled a load of water

April 1911 "Frank Dunkin has his new house almost completed.

1911 Pleasant Valley items "Miss Daisy Hubbard is homesteading this week.

Daisy proved up two quarters in section 12 in 1914.

Francis G. Dunkin proved up a quarter in section 12, 3N 47W in 1913.

Notice is hereby given that Francis G. Dunkin, of Yuma, Colorado, who, on December 18, 1908, made homestead entry for the southeast quarter, section 12. township 3 north, range 47 west, filed notice of intention to make final three year proof, to establish claim to the land above described, before the U. S. Commissioner at Yuma, Colorado, on the 18th day of February, 1913. Claimant names as witnesses: Milton A. Wilson, James Russell, Frank M. Woodward and Clarence W. Carr, all of Yuma, Colorado .

1914 F.G. Dunkin was delinquent on taxes for the se of 12, 3 North 47 West. That land was owned by Otto Hensel in 920 – and joined Daisy Hubbard’s two quarters in the north of section 12.

September 1916 the Yuma County Commissioners paid Red Cross Drug Co. for Medicine for Frank Dunkin 3 00


One source says he was the son of William T. Dunkinand Nancy Ann BUrger.

In 1920 Francis and Lucy are farming in Phillips County, Colorado, with the four boys, adding Thelma L. 7 and Alice I. 5 both born in Colorado.
From the names of neighbors, they could be living south of Haxtun.
Next household is James M. Dunkin 41 and Elma 40, both born in Nebraska and son Darwin D. eleven months born in Colorado.

In 1930 Francis and Lucy are farming in Larimer County, Colorado, both 49. John F. is 26, an dairy farmer, Laurence 22 a laborer, and Loyd 20 a farm laborer.
"Zelma" L. is 17, Alice 15.


Francis Garfield Dunkin 1880-1957 is buried in Fort Collins # 103264883.
Lucy Margaret Hubbard Dunkin 1880-1970 is buried iwth him # 103264903.


John Francis Dunkin registered for WWII in Boise, Idaho, a prospector, born January 17, 1904 in Auburn, Nebraska, nearest relative Elmer Gabbard.

John died August 15, 1995, last residence Valley County, Iaho..

Lawrence Lee Dunkin born Nov 12, 1906 in Auburn, Nebraska, died March 19, 1980 in Denver.

Harold Hubbard Dunkin, born at Lincoln Nebraska March 7, 1908, died August 1987 in Loveland.

Lloyd Wilson Dunkin, born in Yuma August 11, 1909, died 19 May 1994 in Fresno, California.
Thelma married Elmer Gabbard on February 6, 1934 in San Diego, California - per one tree - , and lived in Idaho in 1942. Elmer was born August 9, 1906 in Bord, Kentucky, lviing in Boise in 1940, employed by Francis Dunkin, nearest relative Thelma Lucy Gabbard.
In 1959 Dayton, Ohio, Elmer is an electrician with Thelma on Centervill street.
There's an Elmer Gabbard in the Gabbard Cemetery, Jackson County, Kentucky # 6018781....
Elmer Gabbard, age 87, died February 24, 1991 in Bell, Kentucky, residene Jackson County.

Thelma L. Gabbard, born Sept 27, 1912, died June 26, 2002, last residence Jackson County, Kentucky.


In 1934 Casper, Wyoming, Lester R. Kruse is working for the Texas Company, with Alice C. at 212 N. Elk.

Alice and Lester Kruse divorced in Twin Falls, Idaho on April 22, 1949.
Children were LaVonna and Keith Kruse.
Lester Kruse, born October 19, 1897, died March 1, 1976.

Alice Jennie Caroline Groves, born in Yuma April 18, 1914, died December 7, 1996,
She's buried in Twin Falls, Idaho # 182145042, with Claude E. 1907-1992, # 182146213.
