Charles was born February 6, 1862 in Missouri, son of Josephus Alexander Givens and Mary Parrack Givens.
Nellie was born September 11, 1865 in Spencer County Indiana to David Meeks Pitt and Sarah Ann Calkin Pitt. They married November 5, 1885 in Camden County, Missouri
A son Clarence was born 1886 and was buried in 1888 in Missouri
In 1889 son Jesse was born in Colorado, so they must have moved in 1888 (Charles proved up his homestead west of Wages in 1895). Jesse Elmer registered for WWI in Arkansas, saying he was born in Holyoke June 18, 1889.
Clara Mae Givens TOWRY was born in 1890 in Colorado
David Melvin Givens was born June 9 1891 (his WWI registration says he was born in Holyoke, but that might have been their post office)
Rubey Marvin Givens was born October 26, 1893 - his WWI registration in Scottsbluff Nebraska said he was born in Holyoke.
Aubrey Gerald Givens was born November 30 1896 - his Arkansas WWI registration said he was born in Fort Morgan.
Nellie Pitt Givens KING HICKMAN was born January 10, 1900
Sarah F. Givens SLADEN was born July 2, 1901.
In 1900 Snyder, Morgan County, Charles and Nellie have Jessie E, Clara M, David M, Rubey M, Aubrey G, and four month old Nellie P.
In 1910 they're in Platte, Washington County, with all the kids, and have added Sarah F., 8
In 1920 they've moved to Polk County Arkansas - with only Francis (Sarah Francis) 18 and Nellie 16
In 1930 Polk County Charles and Nellie are alone, still farming.

GIVENS-PARRACK-BLACKBURN/ My greatgrandfather Charles Rubey GIVENS was born in
Leclede County in 1862. His brother Joseph Alexander GIVENS was born Jan 1865.
Their parents Joseph GIVENS and Mary PARRACK? GIVENS died in Dec 1864 and
1867. Newton PARRACK was appointed guardian of the two boys and then later
George BLACKBURN. Young Joseph married Emma DARROW. Would like to hear from
anyone with information on these families. Thank you.
