Guy Terrill, of the Kirk community passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver March 31, 1954 after an illness of two weeks. Cause of death was given as a malignant tumor of the brain.

Funeral services were conducted on April 5 from the Olivet Nazarene Church of Kirk and burial was made at McDonald, Kansas. Officiating at the service were Rev. Martin Jagger of Los Animas and Rev. Warren.

The following life sketch was read at the service: Guy Terrill was born November 22, 1897 at Smith Center, Kansas to Clara and David Terrill, and passed away on March 31, 1954 at Denver, Colorado.

In his early boyhood he attended school near Ludell, Kansas, later moving with his family to McDonald, Kansas where he graduated from the high school in 1918. Soon after, he and a brother, Irvin, moved to Scott, county near Manning, where they started farming.

While living in Scott county he met Blanche L. Gardner, and they were married on February 14, 1923. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive their father.

The family lived in Rawlins County, Kansas several years, and moved to the Kirk, Colorado community in 1943.

Mr. and Mrs. Terrill joined the First Baptist Church at Manning in 1923 and later transferred to the Nazarene church at Kirk.

Surviving Mr. Terrill are his wife, Blanche, children, Leora Riessen of Vacaville, California, Bernice Kirkland, Sterling, Colorado, Bonetta Schafer of Idalia, Colo., Roland and Larry Terrill of the Kirk Community. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Robert and Vicki Riessen, and Rita and Pamela Kirkland: five brothers and sisters, Irvin Terrill of Harvard, Idaho, Lawrence Terrill of McDonald, Kansas, Edna Beckner Schnee of McDonald, Kansas, and Hazel Goltl of Murphy, Oregon. One brother, Leland, and his parents preceded him in death.
