J. Leonard Nikkel
of Denver, a certified life underwriter, died Jan. 11.
He was 91. Services were Monday at Fairmount's Little
Ivy Chapel. Interment was in Fairmount Cemetery. He was
born June 9, 1908, in Joes . On June
12, 1932, he married Ethel Elizabeth Bowman. She
preceded him in death. He then married Bernice Marion
Ward on Oct. 3, 1982. He was a certified life
underwriter for Equitable Life Assurance Society of New
York. He was a building representative for Windsor
Gardens building No. 26, and president of Windsor
Gardens Newcomer Club, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of
the George Washington Lodge and the El Jebel Shrine. He
is survived by his wife; a daughter, Laurel Ann Walters,
Colorado Springs; a son, William Howard, Boulder; a
brother, William G., Yuma; a sister, Martha Milsap, El
Cajon, Calf.; five grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the
