Possible parents are Erastus L. Willis 1849, Illinois, and Elizabeth 1852 in Creston Iowa in 1880. Elmer is 7, Mirtle two months.
Mirtie, born April 1880, died in October, buried in Creston, # 17461088.
1914 Wray "E.L. Willis of Creston, Iowa is in Wray this week visiting his brother W.L. Willis, and family. "
Erastus 1848-1932 is buried in Creston, # 17461081.
Elisabeth, born March 6, 1852 in Pennsylvania to H. Whyte and Zelda Rinehart, died January 16, 1910 in Creston.
In 1900, Albert is a laborer on the railroad, in the Griffin boarding house in Eckley, Colorado, born 1881 in Iowa. Both parents wee born in Illinois.
1899 Wray "Bert Willis amused himself last Saturday
morning by shooting Marshal Jennings ducks on the mill race.
He is a fair marksman and he dropped two, which he promptly turned over to
Mrs. Jennings together with 50 cents to pay for his pastime.
Bert says he thought they were wild."
Albert G. Willis married Dora M.Huddleson on May 14, 1902, recorded in Yuma County.
Dora is with her, also divorced, 28, with William L. Willis 6 and John B. 4, both born in Nebraska.
September 1912 "Mrs. Julia Huddleson's
little grandson, Le? Willis, came down from Denver, last Thursday to stay
with his grandmother while his mother, Mrs Dora Willis, is recovering from
a surgical operation in ona of the Denver hospitals."
October 1912 "Mrs. Dora Willis, who recently underwent an operation in a
hospital in Denver, is at the home of her mother, Mrs. Julia Huddleson in
West Wray and will remain until her health is improved."
Possibly the Dora Willis who married Charley B. Millison in Denver on November 16, 1913.
John B. Willis, Albert and Dora's son,
is in Wray in 1920, age 14, with grandparents William L. Willis 63 and Emma E. 59, both born in Illinois.
John is in the seventh grade in Wray in 1923.
William L. Willis, born about 1904 in Nebraska, is in San Quentin Prison in 1930.
November 1902 Wray "Born: To Mr. and Mrs. Bert Willis, Sunday Novemer 9, a three-pound baby boy."
1903 Wray "Bert Willis sold Lis furniture on the street last Saturday at auction sale. He left Sunday night for Alma Nebraska where he will make his future home."
1904 Wray "Mrs. A. G. Willis, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Chas Huddleson who has been
visiting at the Huddleson home in Wray for some weeks,
returned to her home at Atlanta Nebraska Sunday."
1904 Wray " Grove Huddleson is down in Nebraska visiting a sister who is sick."
1905 Wray "A. G. Willis writes us to have his Gazette sent to him
at Atlanta, Nebraska, instead of Alma, where he was formerly receiving it."
1909 "Mrs. Bert Willis, of Holdrege, Neb., is visiting her mother,
Mrs. Huddleson, this week."
Albert Garfield Willis registered for WWI in Omaha, a mason and carpenter, born March 12, 1881. His nearest relative was John Willis of Wray, Colorado.
When Albert registered for WWII in Omaha, he said he was born at Creston, Iowa,. His reference was Marie Tichy of Omaha.
Albert G. Willis 38, and Marie D. 34 are in Omaha in 1920, no kids, running a rooming house. Albert is a stone mason and cement worker.
There was a John Willis, brother of Erastus, born about 1865 in Illinois, widowed in 1910 Creston, Iowa, living with Rachel Willis 81, widowed, and Erastus L. 61 also widowed.
Albert died in June 1967, last residence Omaha.
