Albert Whitney, Eckley

Albert was a superintendent of the Phippsburg Colorado Union Sunday School in the 1910's.

1913 "MARES TO TRADE  - Span of mares to trade for a pair of geldings of 1100 pounds.  M.W. Whitney, Phippsburg, Colo. Phone 405."

1914

1915 Phippsburg "Mr. and Mrs. Blair of Cherokee, Kan., are expected to arrive soon for a prolonged visit with their daughter, Mrs. Albert Whitney."

In 1916 Frank E. Whitney sold the drug store in Phippsburg to P.J. Walter, and expected to leave with Mrs. Whitney about the twentieth for Meeker, Colorado.

1917

1918 "Albert Whitney has bot an Avery tractor the other day and will use it on his Phippsburg ranch."

1919 "Albert Whitney becomes owner of the Phippsburg drug store, purchasing the equipment and business from the former owner, Mrs. Ella M. Perry.  Mr. Whitney will be assisted in the operation of the store by his wife.   Mr. and Mrs. Whitney are pioneer residents of the Phippsburg vicinity and their many friends in that locality will be pleased to hear of their new venture.  They will also have charge of the postoffice."

In 1920 Albert is a druggist in Phippsburg, Routt County.  Bertha 33, both born in Kansas, have Elizabeth 7, Audrey E. 5, both born in Colorado, and father Mortimer W. 81, born in Indiana. 

Mortimer was admitted to the Veterans home in Leavenworth in 1921.  Nearest relative was Mrs. May Laffe, Burreau City, Kansas.

1928 Phippsburg "Mrs. Nancy Blair has gone to Jewell, Kansas, to spend the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Whitney and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Nancy Whitney."

Bertha, Elizabeth, and Nancy are in Jewell, Kansas in 1930 .  Bertha is a linotype operator for the county paper.

Mortimer is in an "old folks home" in Kansas City in 1930.

Bertha  9/5/1886- 2/13/1954 is buried in Sacramento California  76635204  Mother's maiden name Hudson, father Wesler.
