1905 Formoso, Kansas "Robert, Potter and wife called at Wathen's Sunday, but they were not at home"

June 1905 Formoso "Mrs. Robert Potter and wife and Mrs. Potter's brother, visited at Wathen's, Sunday. Dave Vanmeter's, Mrs. Sarah Potter and son Mark, Clyde Scott and Alya Mover visited at Will Ellis's, Sunday."

September 1905 Formoso " Mrs. Robert Potter is visiting her parents at Harper, Kansas."

June 1907 Formoso "Robert Potter has rented a farm on the White Rock creek."

The Potters were living in Formoso in August 1910.

October 1911 Formoso " Mrs. R. A. Potter came down from the Superior country Tuesday. Her niece, who is here from Wichita returned home with her for a visit."

February 1912 Formoso "Robert Potter and wife were down from the near Webber and paid ahead on this paper. They are going to move to Eckley, Colorado the latter part of this month."

November 1913 Formoso " Mrs. Tominle Shedden and her sister, Mrs. Robt. Potter left Tuesday for Wichita to visit relatves. Mrs. Potter will then go on and visit relatives in Oklahoma."

December 1913 Formoso " Mrs. Robert Potter left Tuesday morning for her home at Eckley, Colorado. She decided to have this paper visit them once a week. "

May 1915 " Mrs. Bob Potter returned from Formosa, Kansas. She reports her sister some better."

Robert's claim was for two quarters in sections 5 and 8, 2N 46W.

September 1915 " Lee Smylie, Bob Potter and Henry Poppie made final proof on their homesteads this week. Many are proving up and none are going back to “wife’s folks” but wife’s folks are coming here eager to grasp some of the splendid opportunities in getting deeded land that pays for itself in one year’s crops. "

October 1915 "T. E. Stallings and wife visited Bob Potter and wife Monday. "

November 1915 "T. E. Stallings, Ben Blayer and Ray Noble helped Bob Potter Monday in moving the barn which Mr. Potter recently purchased of Bert McKenzie."

December 1915 "Bob Potter and wife entertained the former's mother and father of Parks, Nebraska."

December 1916 " Mrs. Bob Potter is entertaining her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Clary, from Ft. Dodge, Kans., also her sister, Mrs. Emma Sheeden, of Formosa, Kansas."

May 1916 " Col. Ike Foot of Parks, Neb., is visiting with his son-in-law, Robert Potter. The colonel is an oldtime auctioneer and veterinarian and has a veterinary instrument of his own patent which he is endeavoring to interest someone in. It is his desire to appoint agents throughout the state to handle this instrument."

June 1916 Formoso "Mrs. Tommy Shedden and the children, and Mrs. Shedden's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clary, of Wichita, left Tuesday for a yisit with Robert Potter and wife at Eckley, Colorado. "

March 1917 Formoso " Robert Potter and wife and Mark Potter started for their home at Eckley, Colorado, Tuesday.

June 1917 "R. A. Potter writes in from Eckley, Colorado, that it is raining nearly every day there; hail has destroyed most of their small grain; crops are backward; had a foot of snow there June 1st. "

June 1918 " Mrs. R. A. Potter came down from Eckley, Colo., last week for a visit with her sistc, Mrs. T. H. Shedden, Jr., and with her parents, Mr. Clary's, who are visiting at the Shedden home."



"R. E. Pantier's entertained Mrs. Sarah Potter and son, Mark, Rob't Potter and wife, and Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Sturtevant at dinner Sunday."

February 1919 "R. A. Potter has accepted the job as marshal and street commissioner of Formoso, and is now on the job."

May 1920 " Martin Clary and family drove up from Augusta, Kansas, the latter part of last week for a visit with Mr. Clary's sisters, Mrs. R. A. Potter and Mrs. T. H. Shed-den, Jr. Mr. Clary is employed in tbe oil fields near Augusta."

May 1919 Formoso "Mrs. T.H. Shedden, Jr. and two children and Mrs. R. A. Potter left Tuesday, morning for Amorita, Okla. "

February 1920 Formoso, Kansas, "Mrs. Robert Potter has been in very poor health for several weeks and is no better at this. time. "

March 1928 "Ivan Richards and family have mcved on to the Bob Potter farm. "

In 1930 Formoso, Sarah E. Potter is 83, Robert Potter 60 Son, and Marcus Potter 57 Son.

April 1946 "We are indebted to Mrs. L. E. Coffman for a clipping from a Jewell, Kansas paper dated March 28 and stating the death of Robert A. Potter in that city on March 19. About 1926 and 1926 Mr. and Mrs. Potter were residents of the Eckley community, where they resided on a farm and will be remembered by many of the older residents."

March 28, 1946 Belleville, Kansas "Robert A. Potter, son of William and Sarah E. Potter, was born June 30, 1869 near Petersburg, I11., and passed to his reward at Mankato, Kan., on March 19, 1946. He had been ill of a heart ailment for sometime, but death came suddenly to him.
He came to Kansas with his parents when 13 years of age and went through pioneer life here. In 1891 he went to Oregon where he worked on a ranch for two years. Returning to Kansas, he went to Oklahoma when the "strip" was opened to settlement in 1893. In 1894 be was married to Miss Harrriet Clary on December 12, 1894, and they lived both in Kansas and Colorado. While he had made his home in many states he always counted Jewell county his home and returned here in 1928 making his home here until his death.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Savilla Sturtevant of Formoso, his brother, Mark Potter of Mankato, one nephew, Lew Sturtevant of Wauneta, Neb., and one niece, Mrs. Ethel Dempsey of Montrose.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Maud Scars at the Formoso Community church."

March 1951 Spokane "Mrs. Harriet Martha Dobbins, 72, died this afternoon at a hospital here following an extended illness. She was a resident of Clark Fork for 30 years, moving here four years ago. Survivors are a son, Charles Rounsville of Helena, Mont., and three sisters, Mrs. Emma V. Shedden of Formoso, Kan.; Mrs. Belle Briles of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jennie Christ of Bellville, Mich.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p. m from the Riplinger chapel with the Rev. H. C. Bever officiating. Interment will be in Forest cemetery."
