Benjamin and Martha (Uline) Edwards

In 1880 Lee County, Illinois, Mattie L. Uline is 18,
with parents Stephen H. 50 and Gertrude 48. Elva M. is 22,
Mattie L. 18, Sadie J. 16 , Eva L. 10, and nephew Willis 14 born in Missouri is a farm laborer.
Stephen Holmes Uline 1828-1910 is buried in Lee County # 141351412,
with Gertrude (Sharpe) Uline 1833-1914 # 141351446.
Willis, retired Army Colonel 1865-1935 is buried in Arlington National # 49330048.
"Willis Uline graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1890. He retired as a U.S. Army Colonel. "
"Willis Uline, United States Army, was cited for gallantry in action in the Santiago de Cuba Campaign, 22 June to 17 July 1898."
1919 "The San Diego, California Union of last Sunday,
contains excellent pictures of Miss Lou Taylor Uline and
Miss Jane Uline, daughters of Colonel and Mrs. Willis Uline,
who were guests of honor at a reception held on New Year's Day at
the San Diego hotel. The Misses Uline are charming members of the
army set of San Diego and are the recipients of great social
attention. The account of the reception follows:
"One of the most delightful affairs of the holiday season was
held on New Year's day in the sunny
parlor of the San Diego hotel, when Col. and Mrs. Willis Uline
entertained with an informal reception in honor of their daughters,
Miss Lou Taylor Uline and Miss Jane Uline.
"Regimental flags of the Twenty-first Infantry, of which Col. Uline is the commanding officer, ' were artistically arranged about the parlor with the flags of the Allies, while red carnations and roses add ed a touch of oral beauty
Music for dancing was furnished by the Twenty-first Infantry orchestra and punch was served by
Miss Cynthia Uline, Miss Helen Porter and Miss Lillian Porter.""
1932 Fort Leavenworth, Kansas "Mrs. Willis Ulinea nd daughters have arrived from Denver, and are the guests of her parents, Mr. anad Mrs. O.B. Taylor, Sr."
Mattie's niece Gertrude married Aaron Golden - September 16, 1952 Lee County, Illinois
"Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Niebergall left Saturday to attend the funeral
of Mr Aaron Golden of Jewell, Iowa.
Mr. Golden's wife was Gertrude Ullne, formerly of Pawpaw." Gertrude Mae Uline Golden, per one tree, died July 6, 1956.
Benjamin Edwards is a store keeper in 1900 Chicago, born Sept 1859, married 15 years to Martha January 1862, wtih Orne P. May 1890 and Gertrude January 1892, all four botn in Illinois. Orion D. April 1829 in New York and Maria Aug 1830 in Ireland, are his parents.
Orin D. Edwards 1829-1922 is buried in DeKalb County, Illinois # 24739506, with Maria J. 1828-1900, # 24739513.

and eggs for hatching - Ben P Edwards, Eckley, Colorado.
Ben P. Edwards died November 1917 and is buried in Yuma # 49486613.

Martha is living with daughter Gertrude E. Lockard 48 and her husaband William J. 51 in 1904 Yuma precinct. Martha is 78>
Martha U. Edwards died in 1942, buried in Yuma # 49486619.

Stephen Uline Edwards, a hearing aid salesman,
born in Chicago May 28, 1904, died in Las Vegas, Nevada October 3, 1957.
He was to be buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Las Vegas.
OLIN
Orin P. married Alice Wright, both 24, in Chicago on Nov 5, 1914.
They had Arthur Edwards in Eckley, Colorado October 7, 1917, and were in Pocahonta County, Iowa in 1920.

February 2, 1911 Waverly items "The young people gave Miss Gertrude Edwards ( one of the old maids )
a very interesting surprise party, last Wednesday evening in honor of her 25
th birthday. We all wish her many more."
Gertrude Edwards, age 20, married W. J. Lockard on October 6, 1912, recorded in Yuma County.
May 8, 1924 "Mrs. Martha Edwards, of Bridgeport, Nebraska, arrived from Omaha last Friday for a few days visit at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Lockhard, northeast of Yuma."

Mary Evelyn Lambert Ethington is buried in Yuma # 31610942.
"Mary 'Evelyn' Ethington passed away March
21, 2004,at the age of 83 after a battle
with cancer and heart problems.
She was born to James and Gertrude
Lockard in Yuma, Colo. on April 22,1920.
She married Troy Lambert in June 1938
and he preceded her in death in 1954.
She then married Quinn Ethington in Jan
1955 he preceded her in death 1968.
Survivors include: five daughters,
Eileen Murdock and her husband, Joe,of
West Terre Haute; Georgia Peppcrworth
and Irene Austin of Terre Haute. Ruth
Sanquenetti and her husband, Willard,
of Clinton,and Julie Sink and her
husband,James,of Terre Haute.
She was blessed with fourteen
grandchildren: Rick Murdock and his
wife, Peggy, Troy Murdock and his wife,
Susan,Terry Kennedy and his wife Brenda,
Susan Richey and her husband, La Von,
Cheryl Pitman and her husband, Larry
Jeannie Cooper and her husband Dennis,
Mark Austin and his wife, Toni, Valori
Berrisford and her husband, Brian,
Beth Levine and her husband, Jim,
Willard Sanquenetti III and his wife,
Randi, Rhonda Bunnell and her husband,
Robert, Laura Glassgow,Brandy Cline
and her husband, John,and Jamie Sink.
Special friends of the family are,
Nancy Jones,Sandy McKinney, and Mike
Jones. She also blessed with thirty
great grandchildren; and fourteen
great-great grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by
her parents,and two great-grandchildren,
Zachary Tyler McKay and Victoria Gay
Bunnell.
She was a member if the First United
Methodist Church of West Terre Haute.
A Cremation has been scheduled.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until
8 pm.Wednesday in Fitzpatrick-Pearce
Funeral Home with a special memorial
service at 7 pm with the Rev. Allen
Relford officiating. "
"Teachers meeting was held at Mr. Edwards Jan. 28 by some of the teachers of Yuma co. and matters were discussed
that were of vital interest to them."
