James 1864-1936 is buried in Ray County, Missouri # 15381532, with Alta 1869-1951 buried in Eckley # 52879512.
His death certificate says James Henry Ballard was born Sept 3, 1864 at Beaucoup Illinois to John Russell Ballard and Docia D. Jolly. He was an oil station attendant. Vern Ballard of Eakly Colorado was the informant.

In 1940 they're living in Eckley, where Vern is a mail carrier, with Harold 17 and Betty J. 6
July 13, 1944 "Mr. and Mrs. Vern Ballard and Betty Jo returned home Sunday from a week's vacation during which they visited Mr. and Mrs. Harry Barr at their new location north of Loveland and did a little fishing. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Art Cain, Mrs. Alta Ballard and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Brown in Denver."
