In 1850 Wayne County Ohio, James M is 13, with John 24 and Abraham 81, Mary 55, Martin 21, Deviny 20. All but James were born in Pennsylvania.

James M. "Simmers" married Mary L. Ritchie April 14, 1870 in Tuscarawas, Ohio.

In 1880 Johnson County, Nebraska, James M. Sumners is farming, 43, born in Ohio, with Mary M. 28 Illinois, and Minnie 9, Illinois.

Minnie Sumners, born about 1869 married Daniel D. Gerry, born about 1862 in "Cannady" in Johnson County October 14, 1890.

In the 1900 Census Minnie had remarried T B Jackson and lived in Riverton, Nebraska. I have no idea where and when Daniel D died. I have located the graves of Minnie and Gladys in Riverton, Ne. In 1910 Franklin County Thomas B. is 53, Minnie 40 - this time married 13 years. They have Helen 12, James B. 10, Merle 1, and stepdaughter Gladys I. Gerry, 16, born in Illinois

Next household is Carlton B. Gerry, 18, born in Nebraska.

The Franklin County obituary index has "Jackson, Minnie (Summers)Gerry - 1869-1959" and "Jackson, Thomas Benton 1856-1938"

In 1900 Johnson County, James born April 1837 has been married 28 years to Mary, 47, who hasn't had any children.

In 1870 Appanoose County, Iowa, James F. Sumner is 12, with parents Thomas 48 and Eliza Sumner. Elizabeth A. is 23, Peter H. 13, JCharles 10, and Eliza 8.

Eliza (Sumner) Woodin 1864-1947 and Francis 1862-1935 are buried in Akron # 74855446.

Thomas Sumner 1825-1905 is buried in Norton, Kansas # 21585246.

1911 Armel items "J.T. Sumnner is conducting a series of meetings at the Bunker Hill school house this week."

The series of meetings at Bunker Hill closed Saturday evening and Rev. Sumner departed Monday for this home in Sydney, Nebraska."

1914 Armel items "J.T. Sumner and nieces, Ina and Ona Woodin of Akron, arrived in Armel Monday of last week."

Name is not close, and this one always appears to be a clergyman.

In 1900 Thomas County, Kansas, James M. Summers is a merchant, born Aug 1847 in Missouri, married 31 years to Mary E. Jan 1847 Indiana, with Edward Oct 1881 Missouri, Isabel Jan 1887 Kansas, Willie Nov 1868, married six years to Ella Feb 1874 and their daughter Bessie Dec 1896.
