Melissa A. Kennedy, daughter Cora (Kennedy) Rawalt     Armel

Melissa Spafford born July 4, 1831 in Erie County, Pennsylvania, marrrying Roswell Kennedy in 1849 in Trumbull County Ohio.

In 1870 Benton County, Iowa, Roswell Kenedy is 43, M.A. 39, with G.L. 17, P.I. 13, C.E. 7.

In 1880 Jefferson County, Nebraska, Newell A. Kennedy is 53, a retired merchant, with Millissa A. 48, Park I. is 23, a cabinet-maker, Cora E. 17, and Ralph J. is 7. All three kids were born in Iowa.

In 1885 Jefferson County, Roswell is 59, retired merchant, Melissa 54, Cora 22 is a school teacher, and Ralph 12.

Melissa cash-claimed a quarter in 35, 3S 43W in 1890, and proved up a quarter in 30, 3S 42W in 1894.

She might be one of the Kennedy family that married into the Oldaker.

Melissa A. Kennedy in 1900 Gunnison, Colorado. She's widowed, born July 1831 in Pennsylvania, both parents born in Vermont. She's had four kids, all living.

Roswell A. Kennedy 1826-1886 is buried in Jefferson County # 110125989.

In 1910 Custer County, Nebraska, Melissa is 78, living with son Ralph J. a carpenter, 37, also widowed.

She might be the "Kennedy, Mittie 6/23/36 B63 L26 P09" that the Gunnison Cemetery has recorded.

Charles T. Rawalt cash-claimed a quarter in section 30, joining Melissa's, in 1890.

Emma M. Rawalt cash-claimed a quarter in 2, 4S 43W in 1891, and Emma M. (Rawalt) Davis proved up another quarter in the same section.

Cora Elthea (Kennedy) Rawalt 1862-1937 is buried in Gunnison # 79556721.
