February 16, 1962 "Christian S. Weaver, 83,
a native of Merced and a former superintendent
of schools in Merced county for 24 years, died yesterday
in a local nursing home. For the last 40 years, he
had lived in Mount Hermon. He is survived by his widow,
Anna P. Weaver of Mount Hermon:
a son, Robert C. Weaver of La Jolla;
three daughters, Martha K. LeFevre of San Diego,
Ruth Louise Weaver of San Francisco
and Doris M. Weaver of London, Eng.;
the following sisters and brothers.
Mollie lender of Modesto, Margaret Weaver,
Robert S. Weaver and Alvin E. Weaver, all of Merced;
four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Evangelical Free church of Felton:
Yosemite Lodge 99. F&AM, of Merced and the IOOF lodge of Merced."
February 18, 1962 Santa Cruz "Funeral services for
Christian S. Weaver were conducted yesterday in the
Wessendorf and Thal chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev.
Kenneth Lawrence of the Evangelical Free church of Felton
and Rev. Roy R. Kraft, DD, Twin Lakes Baptist church,
officiating. Mrs. Gene Lafferty sang "At the End of the Road"
and "We Shall See His Lovely Face,"
accompanied by Mrs. Ethel Schultz at the Organ.
Private interment followed in the Oakwood Memorial park.
Honorary pallbearers were: H. M. Dickerson,
Howard R. Shelton, Alistair D. Short, Thomas Will,
Harry Stine, A. Hilmer Nelson and H. T. Blount."
