A George Giggey - March 6, 1838 - Aug 28, 1908 - might be 1903 ? - is buried in Little Sioux Cemetery, Harrison County, and Elizabeth Giggey filed in 1903 for a widow's pension for George. It was paid until her death Oct 13, 1918)

Final Rites Held For Mrs. Nickel, 63, Of Guthrie County • Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Guthrie Center Monday for Mrs. Isaac Nickel, of Guthrie Center, who died of cancer Friday evening at her home there. The Rev. Gordon Zimmerman of Audubon officiated, assisted by the Rev. Milton Wilkenson of Guthrie Center. Burial was in Union cemetery, Guthrie county. Delia, daughter of George U. and Cenn Williams, was born in Rushville, Neb., Oct. 5. 1887. As a small child she came to Iowa in a covered wagon with her parents church when she was a girl. In HKJ9 she transferred her membership to the Lone Star Presbyterian church, located on the western edge of Guthrie county. Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Clifford and Oliver, Guthrie Center, and Carl, Seattle, Wash., and five daughters, Mrs. Clarence Taggart (Lilly), Mrs. Hazel Brady and Mrs. Arlene Brady, Guthrie Center; Mrs. Emmerl Jensen (Edith), Audubon, and Juanita Armstead of Panora; (our brothers, three sisters and 17 grandchildren. One son and daughter preceded her in death. Kenneth gave his life in the service of his country in World war II. who located at Glen wood. In 06 the family moved to Qniney, Wash, On Jan. 20, 1907, she married, Beatrice. Neb., were week-end Isaac Nickel at Quiecy. They returned to Iowa and lived for many years in Union township, Guthrie.
May 24, 1945 Kenneth Nickel, nephew of S. J. Williams of Ritzville, was
killed in
action April 18 near Leipeg, Germany, according to word received this week.
He was a tank gunner and had been overseas two years. He was the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Isaac Nickel of Guthrie Center, Iowa.
Juanita Romines, 61, Nevada, Missouri, died June 30, 1991. Born Jan 10,
1930, in Guthrie County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Isaac Nickel and Della
(Williams) Nickel.

He's buried in Wray. "Colorado Pvt Sup Co 6 Infantry WWI - May 24, 1895 - Nov 28, 1969"
Jess Leroy Nickel registered in Oakland, Nebraska, saying he was born January 5, 1887 in Audubon Iowa, and was single.

In 1920 they're in Chase County, Nebraska with May R. 2 and Edith V. 1.
1923 "Strayed - two cows, branded with a J.E. combination brand on right
side. Parties having information of the whereabouts of these cows, leave
word at Rattler office or notify J.E. McFarland, Lamont, Neb."
In 1930 they're in Dundy County Nebraska, with R. May 13 and V. Edith 11.
James E. 1883 -1963 and Gertrude E. 1897 -1980 McFarland are buried in Wray, and her brother Harvey ins in the same family plot. (probably the Edith V. Boyd 1918-1998 and Donald J. Boyd are theirs)
Gertrude Eliza (Nickel) McFarland Funeral services for Gertrude E. McFarland were held Tues., April 22 at the Wray United Methodist Church. Rev. Morris Coggin officiated. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery. Gertrude Eliza Nickel, child of James Nickel and Rebecca Darland, was born at Red Oak, Iowa and departed this life at Wray, CO April 19, 1980 at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 27 days. She moved from Iowa at age 11 years to Delta, CO, a year later moved with the family to Holyoke, CO. On Sept 29, 1915 she was married to James E. McFarland. To this union were born two daughters, May of San Juan Capistrano, CA and Edith of Wray, CO. Gertrude was the only daughter and youngest of eight children. Her brothers have all preceded her in death. Gertrude and Ed lived on a cattle ranch north of Haigler retiring from ranching in 1949 to live in Laird, CO. She moved to Wray in 1979. She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, May and Edith, two sons-in-law, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
