Squire Goddard, Witherbee

In 1910 Chase County, Nebraska, William Goddard, 64, West Virginia, and Mimi E. 56, Indiana have Harry A. 38 Missouri and Squire, 19 Nebraska.

Squire registered in Yuma County, saying he was born at Imperial, Nebraska Feb 28, 1891, and had a wife.

Squire married Mabel Shaw March 30, 1911 in Holyoke.

In 1917 Squire Goddard of Holyoke was called into service.  Samuel Roy Goddard of Holyoke was registered.

In 1920 "Esquire" 28 and Mable 26 are in Sharon Springs, Kansas.

Squire Goddard in Miller County Missouri in 1930, 39, born in Nebraska, running a pool hall, married to Hortense, 23,- and in 1940 Phoenix Arizona 49, no occupation,  married to Hortense L., 34 and stepdaughter Betty Mae Cruse 16.

In 1880 Nodaway County Missouri Samuel "Godard" is 50, with Elisa 45.  They have S.M., 26, Sanford 23, Dudley 21, Charles 17, Colonel 15, and McLean 12. all born in West Virginia.

"Judge Samuel Goddard"  born Jan 13, 1830 in Marshall County, West Virginia, died July 30, 1901, and is buried with Eliza A. (Fair) Goddard - March 13, 1835-August 19, 1913 - in McCook, Nebraska.

Mrs. Goddard Died in Lincoln

Mrs. Eliza Goddard, aged eighty-eight years, died at 8 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, 612 South Eighteenth street. The body will be taken at 8 o'clock this morning to the former home at McCook, Nebraska.

Surviving are six sons: S.T. and D.M. Goddard of Lincoln; S.W. Goddard of Brush, Colo; C.R. Goddard of Sterling, Colo; Charles Goddard of Paris, Texas and H. Goddard of Tibbetts, Neb,

Mrs. Goddard was the widow of the late Hon. Samuel Goddard, who represented Frontier and Gosper counties in the lower house of the legislature in the session of 1890-91. They homesteaded near Centerpoint in Frontier county in 1884, and were held in high esteem by all who knew them.

In 1900 Colonel B. Goddard, born June 1865 in West Virginia, is in  Logan County with Etta, Nov 1870 Wisconsin. Colonel 1865-1917 and Etta G. (Sincock)  Brown  1870-1961 are buried in Sterling.

In 1885 Squire and Ella are in Brown County, Nebraska.

Squire homesteaded 320 acres in 11 and 12, 5N 43W in 1919

He might be the Squire W. Goddard born May 1854 in Virginia, living in Valley County, Nebraska in 1900, married to Ella O. February 1862 in Wisconsin, with Colonel 13 and Fern 5.

Squire and Ella are in Brush, Colorado in 1910, with Fern, 15.  Squire has "own income"

Anthony Thurman married Fern Goddard September 12, 1913.

Squire's will was probated in Morgan County 1915.

Ella is widowed in 1920 Brush, Colorado, living with Fern and her husband Thurman Anthony.

Fern G. Anthony and Thurman Anthony divorced in Morgan County in 1927.
