William N. Bradford, Mamie I. Bradford, Witherbee
William and Mamie both cash-claimed quarters in 8, 5N 43W in 1891, and William Timber-claimed a quarter in 1904.
One tree says William was the son of John Winder Bradford born in North Carolina, dying January 16, 1910 in Ellettsville, Indiana, and Amanda Elizabeth Hall, born Nov 23, 1840 in Indiana, marrying John December 26, 1860 in Monroe County, Indiana, and dying Aug 12, 1891.
1888 Wakeman News in the Holyoke paper "Mr. Bradford is hauling the timbers for his new house."
May 1889 "Some unknown persons stole a lot of sorghum seed from Albert Gilroy, and not long since Wm. Bradford lost a lot of fruit, jellies and butter."
June 28, 1889 "W.N. Bradford, of Yuma, was in town Wednesday."
William N. Bradford 1861-1925 and Minnie I. Bradford 1869-1922 are buried in the Methodist Cemetery, Elletsville, Monroe County, Indiana.
Minnie I. McHenry is eight months old in 1870 Monroe County,
| G.W. McHENRY is a son of John and Rebecca A. (WILSON) McHENRY, natives respectively of Knox and Monroe Counties, Ind. The paternal grandparents of our subject were settlers in Knox county previous to the war of 1812, of which Mr. McHENRY was a soldier. John McHENRY was reared in Owen County, was a farmer, and made a good home for his family; he also followed boating to New Orleans for a long time. He died May 4, 1875, followed by his wife in 1880, both members of the Baptist Church. G.W. McHENRY is the second of thirteen children, was born in Bean Blossom Township February 12, 1841, and was bread by his father to farming, with whom he remained until he was twenty-two years old. February 22, 1863, he married Miss Izora MOORE, who died January 12, 1870, leaving three children - William T., Oscar W. and Minnie I. After marriage, Mr. McHENRY farmed on rented land for two years, when he engaged as clerk for a time, and afterward farmed again. October 13, 1872, he wedded his second wife, Miss Lucy M. COX, whose father was a pioneer of Owen County. Mr. McHENRY is a man of good business capacity, a worthy citizen, a Democrat politically and an upright gentleman. He and wife are connected with the Baptist Church. |
One tree says William Noel Bradford was born December 1861 in Indiana, and married Minnie I. McHenry September 2, 1888 in Monroe County, Indiana. The same tree says Muriel Voss Bradford was born June 27, 1888 in Holyoke, Colorado, and died September 6, 1958 in Ellettsville, Indiana.
In 1900 Monroe County William Bradford, a day laborer, Dec 1864 Indiana, has been married 11 years to Minnie Dec 1869 Indiana. She's had three kids, two living. Muriel June 1888 COLORADO, and Ruth Mar 1891 Illinois.
In 1910 William and Minnie are still in Monroe County - he's a powerman at a stone mill.

her parents W.N. Bradford and wife.
In 1920 Monroe County William is a janitor, Minnie a dressmaker.

Death of Mrs. Minnie Bradford
Mrs. Minnie Bradford, age 52, wife of W.N. Bradford of Ellettsville, died
yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock of pneumonia after a two weeks illness. Mrs.
Bradford was a member of the Baptist church. Beside her husband she is survived
by two children, Mrs. Irvin Stephens and Mrs. Cort Welch.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Baptist
church in Ellettsville. Interment will be in Methodist cemetery.
Cort Welch was the president of the Ellettsville local in 1917, per "The Stone Cutters' Journal"
One tree says Muriel married Ervin Stevens, and had Mary Elizabeth Stevens April 5, 1918 in Ellettsville. Mary married Robert Lee Van Dyke (1917-1974_ and she died Oct 9, 2010 in Indianapolis.
Mary Elizabeth Van Dyke 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, October 9,
2010. She was born on April 5, 1918 in Ellettsville, IN to Ervin and Muriel
(Bradford) Stevens. Mary Elizabeth worked in many different areas as a
registered nurse until her retirement in 1981. She was a past member of the
Indiana State Nursing Association and the Speedway United Methodist Church. Mary
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Chester) Mayflower and Nancy
Van Dyke; grandsons, Bob and Steve Mayflower; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Van Dyke.
