In 1910 Howard 28, Illinois, and Myrtle M. 25,  Kansas are in Phillips County.  He's running a pool hall in Holyoke, and they've just married.

Howard proved up a quarter in 8, 5N 42W - right on the Nebraska line - in 1917.
