In 1900 Mahaska County, Iowa, William B. is a merchant, born July 1848 in Pennsylvania, married six years to Jennie August 1864 Iowa. She's had one child, deceaased.

William married first in Richardson Co., NE on 18 Nov 1870 to Mary Servilla Davis born in Ohio to Ebenezzer and Sarah McNulty Davis.
Couple had seven children: John D., William E., Jacob W., Silas T., John C., Mary and Tim.

June 21, 1917 "Tom Neifert, son of Mrs. Mary Neifert of north of Wray came down from Denver Sunday and is spending a few days with his mother."
Mary is in Wray in 1920, 67, living alone on the Burlington highway, with a home garden.

January 21, 1915 "Miss Grace Neifert and Mr. Robert E. Jewell were married at the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Neifert, 12 miles south of town, at 6 oclock p.m., Wednesday, January 22, Justice of the Peace Fred Strong officiating. A fine supper was served after the ceremony."

May 1915 "J.H. Neifert, of eleven miles south of Yuma, can now come to town in a brand-new Model 25 Buick car, which he purchased Wednesday."

1915 "J.S. Robison last week sold his 640-acre farm, ten miles south of town, to D. J. Neifert.  The deal included all stock and agricultural implements."

August 1917, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Neifert, of twelve miles south of Yuma, took their son, Albert, up to the sanitarium it Brush Tuesday for medical treatment."

The same newspaper reported that Mr. and Mrs. Neifert planned to leave in a few days for points in California to spend the winter.

December 18, 1924 "Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Neifert, who had been visiting with their son D.J. Neifert of Yuma and other relatives in this vicinity for a month or more, left on the noon train Wednesday, bound for California. WHile here the guests enjoyed visits with six sons, seventeen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The senior Neifert is over 77 years of age."
1926 "J.J. Neifert, who recently accompanied his family to East Las Vegas, New Mexico, returned to this ranch south of Yuma Saturday evening."

Margaret Warren was born near Elkhorn, Nebraska on March 22, 1878 and died in Denver Colorado April 25, 1933 at the age of 55 years, one month, and three days. Her early life was spent with her parents and grandparents until 1890 when she moved to Trenton, Nebraska to live. On August 8, 1894 she was married to D. J. Neifert in St. Francis, Kansas.
To this union were born seven children, two of whom, Marvin and John, preceded her in death about 18 months ago. The following with their father remain to mourn their great loss: Mrs. Grace Jewell of Wray, Colorado; Charles of Los Angeles, California; Albert of Yuma, Colorado; Mrs. Syble Hone of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Mrs. Vera Selby of Wray, Colorado; a brother Ole Warren of Rembrandt, Iowa; a sister Mrs. Carrie Widgery of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and nine grandchildren. All were present at her bedside as she passed away.
After her marriage, she lived on a farm in Nebraska until 1910 when she came with her family to Colorado and settled on the homestead south of Yuma. Here she made many friends and was greatly admired for her beautiful character. She was always friendly and kind and ready at all times to give a helping hand to those in need. She was a loyal friend and neighbor, devoted wife and mother, and was beloved and respected by all who knew her.
Early in life she gave herself to follow Christ and became an earnest and devout student of the Bible which she loved. More than 25 years ago she joined the Royal Neighbors of America and remained in active connection with the same until her death.
The deepest sympathy of the whole community is accorded the bereaved family in their great loss.
Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church of Yuma, conducted by the Methodist pastor, Rev. Hugh Neville, on Friday, April 28 1933 and interment was in the Yuma cemetery.

May 1937 "The largest land deal in western Yuma county in several years was consumated when Ambrose A. Blach purchased the D.J. Neifrt ranch located 12 miles south of Yuma.

D.J. Neifert married Mrs. Hilda Neifert December 1, 1934, recorded in Cheyenne County, Colorado.

December 8, 1938 "D.J. Neifert, a former resident of south of Yuma, has purchased a ranch near Salida and has moved to the place from Canon City.

Grace Mae (Neifert) Jewell 1895-1972 is buried in Jackson COunty, Illinois, # 119836101.
"GRACE MAE JEWELL , 76, of 2111 Sortense St, Murphysboro, was dead on arrival Tuesday at St Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro, after an apparent heart attack. She was born June 27, 1895, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Daniel John and Maggie Warren Neifert. Survivors include a son, Don of Murphysboro; a brother, Al Neifert of Huntington Park, California, sisters Vera Selby, of Wray, Colorado, and Syble Hone of Palo Alto, California and a grandson."
So is V. Don Jewell 1920-1988 # 119836179 and his wife Evelyn 1923-1980.

In 1930 Los Angeles, Charles Neifert is 27, a film developer, single.

In 1940 Gillette, Wyoming, Charles Neifert is 37, married but no spouse, a salesman for a welding supply company.

Charles A. Neifert, born July 24, 1902 in Kansas, died October 4, 1957 in Fesno County.

In 1940 Albert is in Colorado Springs, operating a pool hall, living in a rooming house.
SSDI has him born July 11, 1905, dying Feb 26, 1994, last residentce Sugar City, Colorado.

Vera Neifert married Lorin Selby March 30, 1929, recorded in Sedgwick County.

In 1930 Wray, Vera is married to Lorin Selby.
In 1989 Vera Neifert Selby attended a reunion of the Yuma High School class of 1928.
She's buried in Wray 1910-1995.


Syble Belle Hone was born August 10, 1907 at Trenton, Nebraska to J.J. Neifert and Margrette Warren, died February 15, 2000.
In 1930 San Miguel County, New Mexico, Harry Hone is a printer, 39, born in Ohio, is married to Sybil B. Hone 23, a waitress born in Colorado.
Harry is a printer in 1940 Telluride, Colorado (They were in Victor Colorado in 1935) with Sybil 32 and Wayne 8, born in Colorado.
Harry died March 31, 1961 in Santa Clara County California.
Sybil is in Palo Alto in 1968, widowed, retired.
Wayne A. Hone 1932-2004 died in Hollister, California, and is buried in San Benito California # 35512707.
Hollister businessman and civic leader Wayne A. Hone passed away at St. Louise Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 17 at the age of 72 years.
A native of Yuma, Colo., Wayne moved to Richmond, California from Colorado in 1943. His high school education was received at Richmond Union High School. During the period from 1951 to 1955, Wayne served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS New Jersey, the Wisconsin and the Rochester Cruiser. During the Korean War, he also served on the Halsey Powell and St. Paul Cruiser in addition to the New Jersey. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he spent a year assisting his father in the family's salad dressing business. It was during that period, March 18, 1955, that he started in the title insurance business at Land Title Company of Redwood City. After five years, he started U.S. Title Co. in 1960 and was the Chief Title Officer. His company then merged with Stewart Title which created his position as a County Manager. In 1965 his career took him to Transamerica Title where he created the first Special Projects Department. It was in 1970 that he met his wife to be Dee Hone. They were married in 1972. In 1974, Wayne started the Santa Clara Land & Title Company which he developed to 15 offices employing 200 people. In 1984, his interest was purchased by Carl Cookson. Unable to remain idle, he started forming San Benito Land Title in 1988 and opened its first office in 1989. He completely retired in 2002 when he sold his interest to First American Title.

" Margaret Myers, former Chaffee County deputy clerk, celebrated her 90th birthday Sunday with family and friends at First Baptist Church.
The former Margaret Neifert was born April 1 in Yuma and came to the local area at age 13. She completed eighth grade at Piñon Grove School and went on to graduate from Salida High School with the class of 1944.
'I knew my husband, Bob, in school,' she said. 'He was home on leave during World War II, and after a 2-week romance we were married in California.'
They were married 67 years when he died in 2008. The couple had three children, Bob, John and Melinda, followed by eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She is probably best known in Salida for her years at the Chaffee County Courthouse, where she worked for 21½ years, concluding her career as chief deputy clerk under Mary Ellen Belmar "

In 1900 Richardson County, "Tom" is a boarder, born June 1879 in Nebraska, with Jacob April 1876 also a boarder with the divorced Mary Clark 48 born in Missouri.
In 1910 Thomas is in Kit Carson County, Colorado 33, farming, living alone.
His brother Charles was deputized to register Silas for WWI in Yuma County, a laborer for Beau Business in Denver, nearest relative his mother Mary.
June 21, 1917 "Tom Neifert, son of Mrs. Mary Neifert of north of Wray came down from Denver Sunday and is spending a few days with his mother."
Silas is single, farming alone in Valley precinct, Yuma County, in 1930.
In 1940 Yuma County, Valley Precinct north of Wray, Silas T. Neifert, 62 widowed, is a "relative" of Rowan E 60 and Nellie M. Veal 53 - all three born in Nebraska. Their son E. J. Rowan 13 was born in Colorado.

Alvin (north of Wray) news items June 1914 "Mrs. M. Neifert and Mr. and Mrs. C. Felt were guests at the home of C. Neifert Sunday for dinner."

1904 Falls City, Nebraska "Jake Neifert and Walter Clark left last week for Trenton, Neb., to be absent a few weeks."

November 12, 1914 "Mrs. Mary Neifert of twenty miles north was in town last Wednesday and brought her son Jacob Neifert, to the train to return to his home in Trenton, Nebraska. Neifert formerly lived in Laird, but is now living on a homestead and this was the first visit to Laird in seven months."

In 1910 Hitchcock County, William E. is a laborer, 35, with Nora E. 28 born in Kansas. Johnnie W. 10 and Alvie 9 were born in Kansas, Addie 8, Parle 5, Lilly 3, and Vera three montths were born in Nebraska.
Nora was born May 10, 1881 in Rawlins County, Kansas to John C. Thomas and Margeret A. Newell.

William is a carpenter in 1920 Hitchcock County, 46, Nora 38, John 20 a salesman in a grocery store, Alvie 19, Adeline 18, Pearl 15, Lillian 13, Vera 9, Helen 6, and Burdette 2.
In 1930 Colorado Springs, Nora, 48, Helen W. 16, and Burdette 12 are with her brother--in-law Albert J. McCoy 39, widowed, born in Colorado. He was born in Burlington, and married Margaret Thomas, 1893-1927, daughter of John and Margaret (Newell) Thomas.

Helen Neifert married Albert Dandrea September 3, 1932, recorded in El Paso County, Colorado.

In 1940 Colorado Springs, Nora 57 and Burdette 22 a landscaper are living with Helen, 25 (Illinois ??) , who's married to Albert Dandrea, a tree planter 31 born in Colorado.

In 1930 Hitchcock County, Nebraska, Pearl Neifert is 25, born in Nebraska, a teacher. She's living with sister Adeline Dahnek, 28 and her husband Eddie J. AdeJohn E. is 1, Jack W. five months.

Adeline Dahnke was born in a sod house on Elm Creek, northwest of Trenton, Nebraska, on November 25. 1901. She married Eddie John Carl Dahnke on August 15, 1927.
Adeline is survived by four sons and their wives: John and Helen of Loma Linda, California; Jack and Hazel of Fountain Valley, California; George and Carol of Woodland, California, and Roy and Patti of Trumbell, Connecticut; one stepdaughter, Betty Watts, and her husband, Roger, of Riverside, California; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Alvin Neifert of Lyons, Colorado, and Burdette Neifert and wife. Blanche, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and two sisters: Lillian Scheurer of Aurora, Colorado, and Vera Burks and husband, Arils, of Denver, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, who died October 6, 1973; her brother, John Neifert, and two sisters, Helen Dandrea and Pearl Anderson.
Adeline's parents were William Ebenezer Neifert and Nora Elizabeth Thomas Neifert.
Seven years after her birth, Adeline's family moved to Stratton, Nebraska, where she went to school and was graduated from high school. She attended Kearney State Teacher's College and taught school for seven years. In addition Adeline taught piano to many students.
Adeline was married to Ed Dahnke by the Rev. Schaeffer at the United Brethren parsonage and joined Ed on the Dahnke farm which had been homesteaded by Ed's father in 1884.
She was a firm believer and follower of Jesus Christ, joining the Methodist Church at 13 years of age, was baptized in the Republican River and some years later accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. In addition to her love for Jesus, she had a natural love for people, especially children. She had far-reaching influence on the lives of many young people, teaching Sunday School for more than 40 years covering succeeding generations. In addition she attained a phenomenal record for 30 years continuous perfect attendance in Sunday School. Further, she demonstrated devoted love for her own four sons by writing to each one every day throughout their college years.
Adeline also loved her country, the freedom it represented and its foundation upon trust in God. Correspondence received from the United States Senates, U.S. House of Representatives and the White House all attest to her personal actions in corresponding to political leaders on issues she believed vital to the continued success of our country.
Most of all, Adeline was known by those close to her as a prayer warrior, praying that those she loved— relatives, friends, and even those she had not met, would receive eternal life through personal belief in and acceptance of Jesus Christ. She prayed for America to continue to be a God-fearing nation that would be a light of Christ to all nations and continue to be "the land of the free and home of the brave."
In 1964 Adeline and Ed retired and moved to the Village of Stratton, where she became of member of the Community Club, the Woman's Club, Methodist Women's Society, Garden Club and Ladies' Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On February 5, 1988, Adeline departed from this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Services were held Thursday, February 11, 1988, at 10:30 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church in Stratton, Nebraska, with the Rev. Randall Goeke officiating.
Organist was Majorie Redfield. Larry Forch Jr. sang the selection "Alleluia He Is Coming." There was congregational singing of "Rock Of Ages," "Amazing Grace" and "Nearer The Cross."
Bearers were Dr. George Dahnke, John Dahnke, Jack Dahnke, Roy Dahnke, Burdette Neifert and Lee Carter.
Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Stratton. The funeral was conducted by Jones Funeral Home, Inc. of Stratton.

Dr. George Herbert Dahnke, 68, died March 22, 2001, at Woodland Memorial Hospital.
Dahnke was born on the family farm in Stratton, Neb., on July 11, 1932. He attended a one-room country school and graduated valedictorian from Stratton High School at 15. He met his wife, Carol, at the University of Colorado, Boulder, from which he graduated in 1953.
Dahnke then completed medical school in 1957 at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. He took his internship and residency at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He was flight surgeon at Malden Air Force Base in Missouri and an obsterician/gynecologist at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Dahnke and his wife were married on June 20, 1953, and enjoyed 47 years together.
The Dahnkes moved to Woodland in 1966, where he enjoyed a brief but successful practice with the Woodland Clinic Medical Group. He retired in 1971 after a serious illness.
Sports cars, word puzzles, playing guitar, singing, traveling and participating in his children's activities were among Dahnke's hobbies. He was well known for his exceptional martini-making.
Dahnke is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters Deborah Conrad and her husband Dr. William Conrad of Davis, Karen Hannum and her husband Mark Hannum of Woodland, and Mary Healey and her husband Dr. Christopher Healey of Castle Rock, Colo.; son, Dr. David Dahnke, and his wife, Kathleen of Red Bluff; brothers Roy S. Dahnke of Warrenton, Va., and John E. Dahnke of Sun City; and half-sister, Betty Watts, of Riverside.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Tacy of Boston; Jarrett, Andrew, Julieanne and David of Davis; and Olin and Kathryn of Woodland; and Jennifer and Alexandra of Red Bluff; and Emily, Evan and Laura of Castle Rock, Colo.
Dahnke was preceded in death by his brother Jack W. Dahnke.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church of Woodland, 212 Second St.. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church or to St. John's Retirement Village Building Fund.

In 1940 Colorado Springs, Vera 30 is married to Arlis Burks, 28.
Arlis L. Burks was a patrolman in Denver in September 1947, when a college student killed his wife, called a friend to tell him, and before he could hang up the telephone, Arlis entered and placed him under arrest.

Alva Neifert registered for WWI in Stratton, Nebraska, born June 28, 1900, nearest relative Nora Neifert. He was emplooyed at a school in Stratton.

In 1930 and 1940 there's an Alvin Neifert - a telephone operator - in Chicago, born about 1901, married to Marie born about 1903 in Illinois.
SSDI says Alvin Neifert died December 22, 1996.

Lillian Scheurer was born June 11, 1906 in Trenton, Nebraska to Willam E. Neifert and Nora E. Thomas, dying March 22, 2001.

Lillian Neifert was in Chicago in 1930 a telephone operator, rooming with Augusta Anderson.

Lillian Scheurer 1906-2001 is buried in Fort Logan # 28123259, with Irvin L. 1908-1967.

Neifert, are buried in the family plot south of Wray, CO.Charles E. and his wife are buried nearby in the same cemetery. William B. remarried, lived for awhile in Brownsville, Texas and is buried in Knoxville, Iowa. William Ebenezer Neifert and Nora Elizabeth Thomas were married in Cornell, NE 18 Aug 1897 and lived south of Trenton where sons John and Alvin were born, later moving to west of Trenton where daughters Adeline (Neifert) Dahnke, Pearl (Neifert) Anderson, and Lilliam (Neifert) Scheurer were born.About 1907, they moved to Stratton where daughters Vera E. (Neifer) Burks and Helen (Neifert) Dandrea were born and where the youngest son Burdette Willard was born.William Ebenezer Neifert died in 1929 and is buried in Wray, CO.In her latter years Nora Elizabeth lived in Colorado Springs, CO were she died 20 Mar 1959 and is buried there. Alvin Neifert, the eldest living son, born 28 June 1900 in Ludell, married Marie Scheurer and later Josephine ?. He has one son William Thomas, of the second marriage and currently lives in Lyons, IL at the home of Rose Pedersen. Pearl (Neifert) Anderson taught school in Colorado for a number of years. After WWII she married Les Anderson and they moved to St. Paul, MN. After the death of her husband and after a leg amputation, she stayed with her sister Lillian (Neifert) Scheurer in Denver, CO where she died and was returned to St. Paul for burial.

Lillian Neifert married Ervin Scheurer of Chicago, IL and they later moved to Denver, CO. Lillian currently lives in Aurora, CO.

Vera E. Neifert married Arlis Burks of Colorado Springs, CO and they later moved to Denver, CO where they currently reside.

Helen Neifert married Albert Dandrea of Colorado Springs, CO and since her death, is survived by husband Albert, two sons Robert and Donald, one daughter Dianne and their children, Albert's grandchildren.

Burdette W. and wife Blanche live in Colorado Springs, CO as do their married son Steve and daughter Nancy. by Jack Dahnke
