July 1911 "Frank Hoar met with quite an accident Tuesday. While fixing a screen door a portion of the sod walls fell in , covering him almost to his neck and completely burying his 16 month's old baby. They escaped injury with the exception of a few scratches on the baby's face and head."
Frank claimed 320 acres in 6, 1 S 48W in 1914.
In 1920 Yuma County Frank Carter Hoar is 47, Wisconsin, Helen Dorothy 35 South Dakota. They have Virgil Merle 16, Frank Jr. 13, and Louise Freda 11, Robert Roland 9, all four born in Nebraska, and Everett Earl 7, Colorado.
In 1930 Frank is 57, Helen D. 45, Evert E. 17, and Morris D. 5. are in Yuma County.
Helen is living on South Buffalo Street in 1940 Yuma, with Morris.

Frank C. Hoar died last Thursday at the family home, twelve miles southwest of Yuma, after an illness of only a few hours. Hr. Hoar had been in failing health during the past years complaining at times with pains in the head and dizziness. During the past several weeks he had been feeling unusually well. He arose on the morning of his death in very good spirits, joking wiwth his wife and small son in his usual jovial manner. He went about his morning chores, and while at work he was stricken very violently with his old malady. So intense was the pain in his head that he sent his son to the house to call Mrs. Hoar out to assist him to the house. A physician was summoned from Yuma, but he case was beyond medical aid, and he breathed his last shortly before the noon hour. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the local Methodist church, Pastor H. C. Alley officiating, and the interment was the Yuma Cemetery. Frank Carver Hoar was born in Wisconsin June 12, 1872, and died at his home 12 miles southwest of Yuma, February 15, 1934, at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 2 days. The family moved from the place of his birth when he was nine years old to Monona county, Iowa. In 1883 they moved to Charles Mix county, South Dakota. They lived two years in Prowers county, Colorado. In 1910 he homesteaded 12 miles southwest of Yuma, where the family have resided ever since. To this union five boys and one girl was born: Virgil M. of DeNova, Colorado, Frank C. of Platner, Colorado; Louise Gaines of Sterling, and Roland, Everett, and Morris of Yuma. He leaves also two sisters, Mrs. Emma Pierce of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. Eva Covey of Hastings, Nebraska, and one brother, Morris G. Hoar of Alexandria, Minnesota. He was a very devoted husband and father and a good neighbor. He had a wide circle of friends, who were attracted to him his genial, jovial nature, and who will greatly miss his passing. The relatives present besides family were two nieces, Mrs. Evelyn Bradley and Miss Fern Covey, who reside in this city, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pansegrau of Aberdeen, South Dakota. Helen D. FRANK
Frank Carver Harr, 92, of Hallsville Missouri, died Monday, July 13, 1998, at Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Centralia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Fenton Funeral Chapel in Centralia with the Rev. Darrell Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Harr was born April 10, 1906, in McCook, Neb., to Frank Carver and Helen Dorothy Schoppe Harr Sr.
He married Dorothy Pearl Gilliland on June 15, 1932, in St. Francis, Kan., and she survives.
He was a member of Church of God Holiness in Hallsville and was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Alice Forbes of Hallsville; a brother, Morris Harr of Yuma, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
LOUISE
Louise F. Gaines, 86, of Sterling, Colorado, died Dec. 30, 1996, in Sterling. Visitation and viewing will begin at noon Thursday at the Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery with Father Terence Keefe officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in her name.
Mrs. Gaines was born July 24, 1908, to Frank and Helen Harr in McCook, Neb. She moved to Sterling in 1928.
She married Oren Gaines on April 16, 1928, in Sterling. They operated the Gaines Iron and Metal Salvage Yard from 1935 until Mr.Gaines death in 1968. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.
Mrs. Gaines is survived by a son, Ira "JR" Gaines and wife Pauline of Sterling; a close friend, Ralph Lindsay of Sterling; two brothers, Morris Harr of Yuma and Frank Harr of Hallsville, Mo.; one granddaughter; one step-grand daughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson Dennis Gaines in 1990 and three brothers.
VIRGIL
Virgil M. Harr 1903-1975 and V. Esther 1905-1983 # 11447719 are buried in Yuma.
In 1940 Roland is 30, in Washington County, Colorado, with Hazel 28. They have Edward 10 and Merle 8.
