In 1900 Greeley, Colorado, Edgar Waters is a land lord, born Nov 1854, married 24 years to Clara March 1852, both Wisconsin. Eva M. March 1877 Wisconsin, Hattie E. Nov 1879 Wisconsin, Julia A. Nov 1881 Nebraska, Albert L. Sept 1885 Nebraska, Laura July 1887 Nebraska, Harry F. Oct 1889 Colorado, and Edgar May 1895 Colorado.

Edgar cash-claimed a quarter in 34, 3N 47W in 1891, another 80 acres in 1, 2N 47W in 1911 and another in 1915.
In 1910 Yuma County, Edgar L. 56 and Clarissa A. 58 have ony Harry F. 20. But they have a hired man Claude Duncan and a servant Mable McDonald.
In 1920 Edgar and Clarisa are living on Weld Avenue in Yuma, farming.

December 1928 "Mrs. E. L. Waters, a resident of Yuma county for nearly two score years, died at the family home in this city Saturday, December 22, 1928, aged 76 years, 9 months,and 10 days. Funeral services were held from the Yuma Methodist church at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and the interment was at the Yuma cemetery.

Clarissa A. Card, daughter of Steven and Julie Card, was born near Evansville in Green county, Wisconsin March 12, 1852. When she was 2 years old she moved with her parents to Shirland, Winnebago county, Illinois where she lived until she was about 16 years of age. She then moved with her parents to Afton, Wisconsin, and resided at this place until March 15, 1876 when she was united in marriage to Edgar L. Waters. Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Waters celebrated their golden wedding [anniversary] in this city.

After her marriage she lived with her husband on a farm near the same town. In the fall of 1879 Mr. and Mrs. Waters emigrated to near Utica, York County, Nebraska, where they lived for ten years.

In 1880 they moved to Yuma county, Colorado, locating ten miles north and eat of Yuma, at which place they lived until the spring of 1918 when they moved to this city, where they have since resided.

Clarissa A. Waters joined the Methodist Episcopal church at Utica, Nebraska, nearly forty-five years ago, and in 1880 she had her letter transferred to the Methodist church at Yuma. She has always been a faithful member, wonderful mother, true friend, always thinking of others, and bringing to all sunshine. To know her was to love her.

To this union, nine children were born, seven of whom are living, two having preceded their mother to their heavenly home. One daughter passed away in infancy nearly forty years ago, at the age of 11 months, and one son, Edgar V. Waters, died during the flu epidemic ten years ago,at the age of 24 years.

The children who survive her are three sons, George C., Albert L., and Harry F. Waters all of Yuma, Colorado and four daughters, Eva M. Blake, Hereford, Colorado, Hattie B. Beezley, Greeley , Colorado, Julia A. Lawrence, San Jose, California, and Laura A. Lindsey, Jacksonville, Florida; All the children except Laura A. Lindsey who was kept at home on acount of illness, are here at the present time with their father.

February 13, 1936 "Mrs. Wheeler, who had been taking care of E.L. Waters since he was injured in a fall several weeks ago, left for Atchison, Kansas Monday evening."

March 1943 "E. L. Waters, a resident of the Yuma community for fifty-two years, dropped dead Monday morning in the office of the G. H. Smith Agency at the age of 88 years, four months, and ten days. His sudden death was attributed to a heart attack. In spite of his advanced years, he had been in apparent good health prior to his passing.
The deceased was born November 5, 1854 at Afton, Wisconsin and came to Yuma in 1890, having been engaged in farming since that time, altho in the later years of his life he made his home in town.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. H. A. Critchett at the Methodist church in Yuma tomorrow Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Yuma Cemetery beside his wife whose death occurred several years ago.
Surviving are three sons and four daughters - Harry Waters of Denver, Albert Waters of Haigler, Nebraska, Geo. E. Waters of northeast of Yuma, Mrs. Laura Lindsey of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Julia Lawrence of San Jose, California, Mrs. Hattie Beezley of Yuma, and Mrs. Eva Blake of Denver.

Lawrence of 96 N. 34d Street, San Jose California; Laura a Lindsey of 1503 19th Street, Corpus Christi, Texs, Harry F. Waters, of Yuma, Albert Waters of Holyoke, and George E.l Waters of Yuma.

In 1966, a tax notice refers to Eva M. Blake, Evelyn Benner, Hazel Smith, Stanley Harry Beesley, Doris Allmer, Fred Waters, Eula Waters, Eula Waters, Ripple Eyestone, Dorothy Wauneta Haywood, David Lee Waters, Ruth Rutledge, George Edwin Waters, W.Wray Lawrence, and Edgar A. Lawrence.

HATTIE

Hattie Waters was born Nov 29, 1878 near Madison Wisconsin to Edgar Waters and Clarissa Card.

Hattie, 21, George, 17, and Harry F. 9 are also in the 1900 Yuma County census.
In 1910 Hattie is in Greeley with Harry, and in 1920 they're in the Waverly area, Yuma County, with Stanley 18, Hazel 14, and Bessie 12.
Hattie, Harry, and Doris are in Greeley in 1930, and Hattie is widowed there in 1940.

She died July 33, 1957, and is buried in Greeley # 65215237. Harry H. Beesley 1871-1934 is also buried there # 65215236.

JULIA

June 7, 1900 Greeley "The announcement is made of the marriage today of Mr. Albert Lawrence and Miss Julia Waters."
In 1900 Weld County, Colorado, Albert born July 1870 in Iowa is just married to Julia Nov 1880 Nebraska.
In 1910 Weld County, Albert is 39 born in Illinois, with Julia 29, Ray 7, Edgar 2, and Albert's mother Sophia 68, born in Indiana.
July 1919 Yuma "Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lawrence and son left for Los Angeles, California, on the noon train yesterday, and may decide to locate somewhere on the Pacific coast."
In 1920 they're in San Jose, California, Albert a farm laborer 49, Julia A. 39, Edgar A. 2, and Wilbur - age unknown.
In 1930 San Jose, Albert is working at a packing house, 59, Julia 49, Edgar A. 22 is married to Josephine 23 Indiana, and they have Laurin L. 1.
In 1940 San Jose, Albert is farming, Julia 59, and they have four lodgers.
Edgar A. Lawrence, born Oct 3, 1907, died April 5, 1970 in Los Angeles County.

Julia Austina Lawrence, born Nov 15, 1880 in Nebraska, died July 14, 1947 in Santa Clara County, mother Card, father Waters.
1959 Greeley "Charles A. Lawrence of 1717 6th Ave., returned Sunday after spending a month in California and Oregon. He flew both ways. Lawrence visited his son, Carl E. Lawrence, and family at Sunnyvale, Calif., and his brother, Albert Lawrence, formerly of Greeley, at San Jose. In Oregon, he spent some time with a son, Elmer D. Lawrence, and his family at Portland."

In 1900 Yuma County, Morris is 19, living with parents Fred 52 and Emily F. 51 Blake.
In 1910 Morris and Eva are farming in Yuma County, on the Haxtun road west of Wray. Morris is 24, Eva 34, born in Colorado ?, with Bennie 5, Robert 3, Laura 1, and William one month.
They're next to George Blake, 36 and his wife Kate 33.
In 1920 they're in Edison, Furnas County, Nebraska, with Ben, Robert, Laura, Darrel, Marjorie, and Marion.
In 1930 Morris and Eva are in Hereford, Weld County, Colorado, with Robert 22, Laura M. 21, Darrel 19, Marjorie E. 17, Marion J. 14, and Artllen W. 9.
In 1940 Morris and Eva are alone, farming in Arapahoe County, Colorado.

Morris J. 1881-1954 and Eva M. Blake 1877-1968 # 29163679 are buried in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Allen W. Blake 1920-1990 is buried in Greeley, # 21209793.

HARRY

In 1912, Harry F. Waters of Trumbull, Nebraska contested the claim of Laura A. Lindsay, formerly Laura A. Waters, for land in 3N 45W, section 30.

Laura A. Waters married John M. Lindsay September 11, 1911, recorded in Denver.

1916 Ottawa Kansas "The Farmers and Bankers Life Insurance Company has established headquarters here for this section of the state with John M Lindsay assistant manager of the company in charge. Offices are situated with the Ottawa Business College and apparent; making favorable progress Lindsay said today that twenty or twenty-five men will work out of the Ottawa office over a territory of five counties. Mr. Lindsay and family have come here from Lawrence where the business for twenty-seven counties has been handled. This territory is being divided, another office to be opened at Atchison in a few months, Mr. Lindsay said.
1916 Ottawa Kansas "John M. Lindsay has asked for a new trial in his suit against the Farmers & Bankers Insurance company of Wichita. He sued for $10,000 damages but Judge Smart ruled in favor of the insurance company."

In 1918 they were in Ottawa Kansas, per her brother Edgar's obituary. John gave a patriotic address in November 1918 to celebrate Armistice.

In 1920 they're in St. Lucie County, Florida, John W. 49 Alabama, Laura 33 Nebraska, and John C. 7 Mississippi.

In 1930 they're in Longmont, Colorado, John 54 born in Alabama, Laura A. 43 in Nebraska, and John M. 17 born in Mississippi.

1933 "J.M. Lindsay, who is a member of the U.S. Navy, scored the highest grade of any graduate of the radio school at San Diego recently. He is the grandson of E.L Waters of this city."

J. M. Lindsay born January 1, 1875, in Mississippi, died in Corpus Christi January 8, 1938, a lecturer. His father was John Lindsay of Alabama.
In 1940 Corpus Christi, Texas, Laura is widowed, 52, with six boarders.

Laura (Wid John) was living in Corpus Christi in 1941.
She died February 6, 1958 in Santa Clara County, California, born July 7, 1887 in Nebraska.

There was a John Madison Lindsay killed in Korea Nov 25, 1951 in an aircraft crash, U.S. Navy, born July 27, 1912.

ALBERT
October 20, 1910 Wray "Albert L. Waters of this place and Eula T. Smith of Yuma were married Wednesday evening at the Methodist parsonage. They will live on the groom's claim seventeen miles from this city."
Eula was in Montgomery County Iowa in 1900, with David J. Smith born July 1856 in Illinois, married 16 years to Emma J. July 1864 Iowa. Charles W. born Nov 1884, Elva July 1886, Alma M. Aug 1888, Burton E. Jan 1891,Eula T. July 1893, and Wilma Oct 1898 were born in IOwa.

August 13, 1925 "Mrs. Ethel Rasmussen and daughter, who had been visiting with her sister, Mrs. Albert Waters of northeast of Yuma and Mrs. A.E. Curry southwest of Yuma, left for her home at Pisgah, Iowa."

March 3, 1932 "Mrs. Eula Waters stayed overnight with her daughter Ripple."
Albert Waters took a carload of fat cattle to Kansas City last Saturday.
January 1937 Mr. and Mrs. Albert Waters drove to Laird Monday to see their daughter, Mrs. Willis Eyestone, who is reported to be ill."


May 1937 "Mr. and Mrs. Albert Waters left Sunday for their new place of abode near Haigler, Nebraska."
December 24, 1951 Greeley, Colorado "Mr. and Mrs. Albert Waters will entertain on Christmas day, their son, David Waters, of Hereford, his wife and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Fort, of Greeley, and their daughter, Mrs. Walter Haywood, her husband and family, of Eckley."

September 27, 1962 "Word was received by Mrs. Paul Haywood Monday that Mr. Albert Waters had passed away. He was formerly of this community."

September 24, 1962 Greeley, Colorado "Albert Lee Waters of 1023 1211 Ave, who would have celebrate his 77th birthday Wednesday, died Monday morning at the Weld County General Hospital. He was born Sept. 26, 1885 at Ulica, Neb. He married Eula Smith Oct. 19 at Wray. He had come to Yuma with his parents and his father homesteaded there. Waters also homesteaded at Yuma and after his marriage farmed and ranched there. Later they moved to a ranch southeast of Holyoke, where he farmed until his retirement. They moved to Greeley in 1950 and have lived here since. He was a member of the Elk Lodge and the First Presbyterian Church of Holyoke. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. B. (Ripple) Eyestone of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Haywood of Eaton, a son Mr. David of Greeley; a sister, Mrs. Eva Blake of Fort Collins, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Adamson Memorial Chapel with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
