James O. Winkler



In 1875 Doniphan County, Kansas, James Winkler is 36, Elisabeth 33, John 7, James O. 4, and Rollie L. 2.

March 23, 1876 "Died - on Monday monring, March 12, Mrs. Elizabeth Winkler, wife of James Winkler of White Cloud."

In 1880 Doniphan County, Kansas, there's a James O. Winkler, 9, with James 41 a railroad worker, widowed. John is 12, Rolla D. 7, Mary M. 4, and Jacob L. 20 a nephew working on the railroad. Belle D. 20 is niece, with epilepsy.
James proved up two quarters in 3, 2N 45W in 1923. Witnesses were Edwin Gelvin, James Graves, Lawrence Caragan, and Albert Gelvin.


In 1930 Wray, living on Railway Street, James is 61, born in Missouri, a painter.

In 1940 Wray, he's 70, and said he was born in Kansas.

James Otis Winkler 1870-1942 is buried in Wray, # 81497414.

September 2, 1904 Hiawatha, Brown County, Kansas "Mrs. Jacob L. Winkler died at her home in this city August 20. She had been ill several months. She leaves a husband and two children."
